The exile stuff is pretty interesting. They have a 3D printed muffler for the MS261, cool to see a company use that kind of tech for aftermarket saw parts.
Done full porting on my MS660 from XS, then added the original shotgun dual exhaust plate from Exile. Makes quite a difference in the big cuts. Haters will hate, but that's just how they are. Nice demo
I absolutely hate the dang new stainless mufflers like on the 500i and 661. Makes them a joke unless you have a tig welder or just spray paint it. Great looking add ons tho 👍🏻
You can take a punch and put it in through the muffler and knock that baffle outta there. Its easy and it comes out fairly clean. Its only spot welded. I dont much care for that exhaust because it points the wrong direction but to each there own. If it works it works.
Only word of caution is use some doil tape under the muffler with the covers, they put alot of heat on the oil tank risjing the crank case gasket. Exile is the only copany thatoffs a muffler dront pointed corrrectly.
I put the little dwags off a smaller stihl on mine. I don’t fell trees with the saw so big dawgs are just in the way. I like the look of the muffler cover but also like having the exhaust outlet pointed at the chain so it doesn’t get the log im cutting hot
@toddadams9965 We are not the maker of them. We are a dealer for them. They do make a muffler for the 372. I just don't currently have them in. They are allot more money than just covers since they have to make the whole muffler. The manufacturer is working on making more for other models, which just takes time. They have to prototype, test, and then produce
They will burn more fuel under load in the cut with wide open exhaust and make more torque if it's a little rich which to me is better than more rpm. I have neotec 92.
Where are the uppers opening? I would build it this way . Let the Exaust where it is. Widen intake and exaust 25 thou sqish with 200psi Compression. Choose Bpmr8y Plug and 25 deg pre ingnition. Than check or optimise your uppers. Thats my way , do what you would do!
