Cecil Abungu, Nandini Shiralkar and Haydn Belfield - Existential Risk Dialogues: personal journeys into global catastrophe research
(19 March 2024, Public Lecture, University of Cambridge)
Starting with a hopeful scenario for the future, in this fireside chat you’ll hear stories from a global community of researchers on a mission to bring together the diverse knowledge, skills and experience needed to avoid catastrophe and reach this better future.
The Centre for the Study of Existential Risk (CSER) is home to academics aiming to mitigate global catastrophic risk, but the centre is only a small part of a growing global community concerned with avoiding the very worst of future scenarios for humanity.
We were joined by Cecil Abungu, Coordinator at the ILINA Program and Nandini Shiralkar, Executive Director at the Existential Risk Alliance (ERA). The event will be chaired by Haydn Belfield, the Academic Project Manager at CSER.
The Centre for the Study of Existential Risk (CSER) is an interdisciplinary research centre within the University of Cambridge dedicated to the study and mitigation of risks that could lead to human extinction or civilisational collapse. For more information, please visit our website:
