The reason that Kai wasn't "present" much in this video was cuz Kai was injured. That's why he didn't get a lot of screen times, bcuz he couldn't shot the dance scenes, when he's usually the center of the group and he's always in the center for the chorus' choreo.
Baekhyun fits many EXO's eras like Love me right, Monster, kokobop, and lotto too. When the MV was released everyone was amazed at him, his lyrics and screentime when he sang became very viral but unfortunately in 2016 the internet didn't develop, plus, people were so impressed with his image, outfit and makeup in the monster era (released 2 months ago) so lotto didn't come out as strong. Fan theories believe that "Lotto" is the prequel to "Monster." "Monster" is from EXO's EX'Act album and "Lotto" is from their EX'Act repackaged album, which came out in 2016. So, to understand the story in "Lotto" and "Monster" you have to connect the two storylines. How I interpret things is that the story starts in "Lotto" as EXO goes undercover and works to take down the gambling ring, which is thought to probably be run by the Red Force, and now that we know about EXO's clones, from their "Obsession" storyline, maybe even X-EXO are involved. Fun fact: Kai -- EXO-K's main dancer -- isn't dancing in the "Lotto" MV. As you saw, Lay -- EXO-M's main dancer -- and Sehun -- EXO-K's other main dancer -- are the dancers highlighted in "Lotto." Kai was injured during this time and couldn't dance, which is why you see him sitting down in the MV. In live performances at this time, Kai is absent when Lay is part of the performance because he is still recovering. However, when Kai is back performing the song, Lay was absent because he was busy doing solo activities in China. If you watch any live TV network performances of "Lotto" you might also notice that they change the title of the song to "Louder" and the lyrics are changed to use the word louder instead of lotto as well. Gambling is illegal in Korea and it's one of those things that are banned from being talked about in mainstream media. So in order to make the song TV- and radio-friendly they had to change everything to "Louder." I think the two stories in both "Lotto" and "Monster" actually overlap. I think both MVs take place in the same location and around the same time frame, and in each MV you see the members in different moments as they try to destroy everything to do with this gambling ring. You see them breaking everything in both MVs and you see them smash the car in "Lotto" and in "Monster" you see the car has now been set on fire, and they burn the money and other things in "Lotto" as well, etc. At the end of "Lotto" you see the police or FBI have come in and are just starting to take the members into custody, but if you remember in "Monster" it shows all the members have now been arrested. So I see it as the fight starts in "Lotto" and continues in "Monster." At the end of "Monster" all the members were now in custody and Baekhyun rescues them as he releases them from the back of the police van allowing them to escape, etc. The birds you see in the cage are roosters -- cock fighting roosters to be exact -- and they are another form of gambling. And the dogs are probably guard dogs like what criminal enterprises use as part of their security to deter someone from causing trouble or wanting to rob them, etc. The dogs are thought to be part of the Red Forces' security efforts. Don't worry, SM and EXO don't like animal cruelty either, that's the whole point they are trying to make. It's just another form of evil that comes with gambling. Also remember, in the "Obsession" MV we see EXO are the members in all black and X-EXO are the members in the colorful outfits with the crazy makeup and hair. So, if you notice, in "Monster" the members are all in black for part of the MV (In "Monster" we also see EXO in black and red outfits, which we have now started to think is supposed to be X-EXO in those scenes because of the red on their outfits), and in "Lotto" they are pretty much in black or dark neutral colors, so that is why I think the story is being depicted from EXO's point of view. You also may notice that in "Monster," and in parts of "Lotto," Chanyeol has red hair. But at the end of "Lotto" when he is being arrested, he has blond hair. I think this also might mean that the Chanyeol with red hair is his X-EXO clone, while the blond Chanyeol is the good EXO member who is undercover, trying to accomplish his tasks here on Earth and help the girl, etc. So, in "Lotto" and "Monster" I think what we are watching are the EXO members trying to take down X-EXO and the Red Force and stop the evil and corruption that the Red Force is inflicting on the world which is depicted here as corruption through illegal gambling. We are not really sure what the girl takes from Chanyeol at the end of "Lotto", but it definitely wasn't money. If you pay attention to the lyrics, one of the English lines is, "I don't need no money." That is why they burn the huge stack of cash. Most theories agree that the currency that EXO values the most is flowers. There is an overwhelming use of flowers in many of their MVs, and as you see in "Love Shot," for example, they aren't collecting money but flowers. And in EXO-CBX's "Hey Mama" and "Blooming Day" and in EXO's "Love Me Right", etc. you see them with flowers. My theory is that the girl is somehow connected to EXO's quest to find and protect the Tree of Life and that is why at the end of "Lotto" you see her secretly take something -- which if you pause the MV and zoom in, you will see looks like a small video tape -- to somehow help them in their quest. The video tape is thought to be the video that D.O. is filming with the camcorder in the middle of "Lotto." It's still unclear at this point how the girl fits in the storyline, but I think, or at least I hope, that in the future we will discover more about her and what significance she has within the story. Some say the "girl" that EXO is always singing about and you sometimes see in their MVs -- like in "Lotto" -- is a manifestation of the heart of the Tree of Life and that is why the members are always rescuing or protecting the girl, etc. And why all their songs are about being in love with a girl or being controlled by the power of the girl, such as in "Overdose" for example. Or how they talk about knowing they are bad news for the girl but they want her anyway and they can't help it, but in the end they know they might destroy her -- as they say in "Monster," etc. etc. When you think of the girl as the heart of the Tree of Life the mystery begins to unfold even more. It's been more than 5 years since "Lotto" came out and I have seen the MV dozens of times, and each time I watch it I still see something different and am still working to unravel more clues. But "Lotto" and "Monster" are the two EXO MVs that have me the most confused. I'm still struggling to really grasp the full story those MVs are trying to tell. I think part of the reason why I find these two MVs so confusing, is the fact that they depart the most from the linear storyline and the story jumps back and forth between the two MVs so much that it's difficult to put the events in order to really make a clear picture.

For me as a hardcore Czennie, there's really no others Kpop group can satisfy me as my one group. But really for a good reason i believe that exo are the best 3gen boy group... I always look at them as a role model for every other boy group and even my nct find exo as their role model... I like exo alot, and y'all need to react to more Sm groups cuz they all have the same poreful songs and comeback...

I was a kpop fan before nct debiut, and i was following exo as any random kpop fan but they did never impresse me the way nct did... We cannot compare the tow groups cuz they're not from the same gen, plus they are like siblings and alot of nct members are exo-l. But i find my group much more impressive That's my mind after all
This was the year that kpop came back into my life hard after not paying much attention for a few years because of big life stuff and it was the year when I fell for both EXO and NCT for real. Yes, being there to witness this and Monster drop was certainly something exciting and powerful. But I think songs come back around because they can stand on their own as songs and not just because of the hype at the time or because it is playing everywhere. It's really a great experience to also find songs and artists organically because you came across them in your own way and time. I find when that happens, those artists stay with you for a long time because the connection is part of your personal story too. Anyway, I have mixed feelings about the Monster and Lotto era. **serious comment about body and image coming up** The songs are amazing (b-sides are stunning, I almost always prefer b-sides ) and EXO was doing amazingly well. But whenever I see Baekhyun I can't help but think he was underweight and dieting so hard and that makes my heart hurt. All the pressure on idols to look a certain way and get celebrated for it (and often to restrict their eating as part of that) is something in kpop (and other parts of culture) that troubles me deeply. It's so harmful- not just to the idols themselves but also to how fans and public in general perceive themselves. Take care everyone
i know exactly what you mean, i got into exo 2 years ago when they were pretty much inactive already. Exo is the greatest kpop group ever in my opinion, from talent to their incredible music. Most of their albums are VERY r&b inspired and that’s exactly my jam. Tbh what’s most special to me in Exo is Baekhyun, D.O. and Chen being THEE main vocalists. like all three of them are incredible and such versatile SINGERS. Completely objectively, Chenbaeksoo are the top 4 main vocalists in 3rd gen kpop which is insane cuz there’s three of them in the group. i believe Chen is 1st, Eunkwang(?) from BTOB is 2nd, D.O. is 3rd and Baekhyun is 4th. from a technical standpoint. D.O. and Baekhyun (especially D.O. tho) carry the soulful and r&b like vocals with all the runs, they’re AMAZING

I don't think you guys are going to do an EXO marathon because it would require a lot of effort from you as it could mess up the channel's schedule, BUT... HOWEVER... I HIGHLY recommend that you get to know the group. Yes, from the beginning when we were 12 members, when one of the most remarkable debuts happened ("Mama") and then came one of the strangest songs in the industry ("Wolf") culminating in one of the greatest kpop anthems ("Growl") and, years later, with 8 members (Lay was in the group, but not in the album), realasing the best boy group album in kpop story, "THE WAR" (2017) EXO, for me, is the best boy group in kpop. EXO is another level. EXO is special! "Lotto" was a very divisive release at the time it was released. I LOVE it lol!
