I love the fact that EXO respects the beat instead of singing on top of the instrumentals they just let it flow and let us be taken away by the instruments. Sometimes its not a matter of letting the song sound full but respecting the production too

Ya Ya Ya is actually sampled from r&b group SWV ‘Youre the One’ and it was HIGHLY anticipated. I knew they’d do a good tribute but I didn’t think it would be this good. Takes a real r&b ear to be able to pull of classic r&b
I just feel Alicia Keys vibes in Ya Ya Ya and I can't avoid 😂 I just imagine that is something she easily would sing. This album is the most non-kpop kpop album ever and totally in a good way.
My husband and I had a good time watching this video. You on the floor at the beginning cinched it. Any who, I think everyone should applaud EXO for pulling off the best comeback of 2019. Starting off with the electric Obsession and hitting a sweet spot in the album with Groove, Ya Ya Ya, and Baby You are, and with a tip of the hat to 70s, 80s, and 90s...the album shows how strong of a group EXO is. It was a great gift to the devoted fans around the world!

This album is so good... I instantly fell in love with it! It both feels very modern and throwback without being gimmicky?? The sad thing is I could HEAR some parts of the songs that would have been perfect for Kyungsoo, Minseok and Lay...
It's a universal truth: this EXO's album is something superior. Everything is so good in it... They show such maturity and kinda mix the genres, but at the same time didn't lose their essence... we can feels 90's vibes in it, some songs even have a Bruno Mars and Alicia Keys style. I simply love it! My favorite songs by far are Jekyll and Baby you are, but the other ones are no less good.

How in the world am I supposed to guess your top 3s? You look so ecstatic with each song! 🤣I love all the voices but Chanyeol's voice makes me weak in the knees and does something to my soul.
i've honestly never listened to a full album ever except for red velvet's perfect velvet album and LITERALLY obsession the album has been on REPEAT since it came out, especially obsession, trouble, groove, jekyll, and butterfly effect like aksahdxhskds ITS SO GOOD my favorite album and song of the year hands down

Short story: I went for my daily walk and I had my first album listen on the way. When Groove came up, I died. The fucking chorus brought me back. Finished my first listen, did a second one, loved it to pieces. When I was on my way back home I said, "Let's listen to Fifi's reaction" (because I can't watch a video while walking along a highway) and I opened your video and I saw you lying on the floor and I cackled out loud. Yes to Non Stop and those RV's Ladies Night vibes, and Baby You Are made me want to have a mashup with RV's Look... Shit, after thinking about that RV = Red Force theory, it was the only thing on my mind. Yes, this album is great. The quality is amazing. They really worked hard for it, to prove that EXO is nowhere near done with it. P.S.-Last night before going to bed I had the thought that maybe it wouldn't be just Suho enlisting. Maybe Suho and Chen, in time for Xiumin and D.O.'s return. Having a roster of 6 (ChanBaek after that, and SeKai at the end) doesn't feel scary now that they've shown us they can be every bit of EXO without all of them. The "We Are One" motto lives on. Edit: I'd forgotten about the flute - as soon as I heard it I thought, "Oh shit, Fifi's gonna die."

Butterfly effect has the same effect like cloud nine for me, dunno why, they sound really different, but i think it give me the same Good feeling, and sometime give me some tingling sensation lol.
I just listen to the CD doing my drive to my sisters for Thanksgiving and the whole CD is fire!!!!!! This is my first comeback with EXO and I am so hyped. Obsession is my top song, then YA Ya Ya, Trouble, Groove and Day after Day. They have came for me and I am going with them. Love your reaction as always.
Baekhyun's line that starts "one night" at the end of obsession... that harmony and the power in that note makes me tingly all over and feel like i got gut punched
Gotta admit though I really felt D.O.'s absence.. I miss Xiumin too of course but D.O. 's soulful voice is always one of my favourite things about an EXO song..
I thought I would miss it a lot more, but I am actually proud of how the album came out without him! If I didn't know about EXO before, I would've never thought there was something "missing"
@@taira7007 they totally did a great job and nothing feels missing really but I just love D.O. 's voice so much that I found myself imagining how it'd sound if he was in some of the songs while I was listenning to them.. especially Day after Day and Butterfly Effect.. 😊
I don't know how they are gonna do, but they HAVE TO find a way to fit D.O's voice in these songs in the future... I mean, all these R&B and Soul and sexy style were made for his voice. Man... I truly miss him right now.

came here to check if obsession is still the Best Song of 2019 😂 idk if its just me but i felt so weirded when i first heard Trouble (well bc i cant unhear the moan sound so i kept on hearing it throughout the whole song 😂) but mainly bc i feel like the tempo is confusing me esp in the chorus, i feel like the vocals are intentionally delayed a little bit??? idk im still confused until now hahahahahahahahaha and i looove how this album showcased jongin's vocals 💖

At 39:15 what i noticed when Chanyeol starts the 2nd verse of Day After Day is that the beat starts with a classic Bossa Nova sound. Like they were about to pick up the tempo a bit, but then they brought it back to the original beat after that reverse effect

This album is def EXO's best work. Im so happy with this album. Ain't gonna lie I'm sad that Ksoo, Minseok and Yixing ain't in this project but let's be honest guys Obsession is their best album. Everything is perfect from the production to the vocals. They really showed the reasons why they are the kings. They really outdid themselves. It's time for EX'ACT to take the 2nd place lol !

EXOs songs are always so beautifully complicated. With extra little bits stuck in here and there with amazing solos and ad libs. It makes me appreciate music in a deeper sense rather than just the same mindless EDM beats. Although I do love their EDM remixes during their concert 😅 They just make such good music with complex character
