i think the problem is the source of the music. honestly, they tried to subdue or lessen the volume of backtrack vocals. but its still there.its hard to take it out esp for EXO song because of so many layers. notice how baekhyun and chen tend to sing into the mic? thats one way of drowning out the backtracking vocals, i think. Nonetheless, you can still hear their actual voices. ;)

I dare anyone to say that not all EXO members have top tier vocals after this. I already knew how absolutely amazing they are but I was still awestruck. Baekhyun showing why he’s my favorite vocalist in the world. I know most people rave about his high notes, and they are insane, but his low tone hits me squarely in the face and travels all the way down to my toes. D.O singing perfectly and being his most adorable self. Chen singing effortlessly like he’s just having a conversation. Chanyeol’s deep beautiful tone. Suho’s strong and and clear voice. Xiumin being playful and sounding gorgeous. And Sehun’s wonderful soft vocals that we haven’t heard enough of. ❤ This Killing Voice was definitely worth the wait. If only Kai could be there too.

Hey Anitra! They do have a backing track as you later in the video caught on. From someone that I know that works in that industry, some artists prefer that comes-in-and-out backing track, the most common the one that comes in at the end of the phrases (like you noticed at first). The artists that do that either by their own decision or by the audio engineer notices that by the end of phrases the sound lowers (usually happens in long phrases where the artist might be running out of breath). Exo used to use it a lot for performances, understandably since dancing does interrupt consistent airflow but I’m a little surprised they used it here but it’s most probably the only track they have without their vocals fully since it’s what they usually use anyways. I don’t know. In terms of what they said, I know it’s no substitute for when you watch it again with subs but they mostly just only introduced the songs quietly. I think they were either nervous or just awkward at first hahaha they’re cuties who aren’t used to this new gen stuff. I liked that halfway through they started relaxing more and laughing hahaha. The kyungsoo thing is he introduced mama by recalling his original mistake from debut days (iykyk). I’m so happy we got this! It feels like we’re in a different reality in which we get exo content. I never want it to end 😂 Ps I’m a bit bummed DO didn’t do his monster adlib after the rap section but his little smiles made up for it 😂

24:05 when i heard them singing Miracle in December, all the memories of 12 members of EXO came to my mind.... i didn't know how much i missed them until i watched Killing Voice 😭😭😭😭😭

I think they did a wonderful job with the song choices, it was obviously very aimed at the general public and all the big songs were chosen. It made sense promotion wise. I would’ve loved to hear Tempo’s acapella feel like that’s vocal flexing on another level, and ofc anything from Obsession, DFTF would’ve been epic. IMO they did a really good job with Kai’s parts, they definitely know how to utilize which members voice to replicate Kai’s different tones while still bringing their own vocal color to it. Like with Sehun on First Snow, the eve it was gorgeous. I love that the first chorus of Cream Soda was divided between Xiumin, Kyungsoo, and Chen because Kai is constantly the punching bag of antis for ‘lacking’ vocals so it makes me so proud to not only hear how much he has grown as a vocalist but also have his parts sung by such strong vocalists. Can’t wait to see what they do with redistribution for the bsides for live perfs. As always EXO is EXO so the vocalists devoured as usual. Is it just me or are they radiating a confidence I’ve not felt from them in a while? Like they all feel so much more comfortable and confident with everything they’re doing without being cocky? Does that make sense? Our rappers killed it. Sehun antis getting their just deserts as deserved 😌

I have to watch EXO alone first, because I get emotional, then I look to my favourite reactors to share it with. Listening to you is like deja vu, my thoughts reflecting back at me. It's not only that they sing so well, it's the effortlessness of it. They are singing perfectly in a huge range with complex harmonies and it is easily within their comfort zone. This brilliance is their norm. Straight from the heart, filled with soul and sincerity, there is no one else to compare.

Save the poor D.O. Doll…reminds me of the BTS reaction where you took one away from Caitlyn because she kept hitting it. As for the backing track, sometimes they are noticeable sometimes not. For example, on Kara’s, they kept a random “Yea” adlib in and Nicole said it and a split second later you hear it--but then later on Jiyoung messes up and comes in too late (she had left the group before the song they were singing was released) and it’s just dead air and she tries to cover and they all laugh at her. I love Killing Voice so much, I think they are amazing to watch even for artists/groups you don’t necessarily know as it’s a great introduction.

This is what I love about the Killing Voice, pure unadulterated vocals. I also love that I can focus on each member's vocals (especially so I can distinguish the nuances of each person's voice). I enjoyed hearing the vocals of even the rap line, which we seldom get. I just can't help that I've been streaming EXO for the past 3 days. Can't wait for the next video.

Yes, Anitra, totally right. Solo stans don't get that their faves shine brighter when they have the support, and vocally too, of the other members! Like, they need layering and somebody to "reflect" their vocals in tone and color, to make it more prominent and saturated! Baritones like Sehun , Chanyeol and Kai are needed to make tenors like Chen and Baek sound brighter. Each one is so important for the end result!.

I loved this video🥰I have always been someone who really enjoys almost all of exos music and I know all of the members but for some reason I just haven't really watched a lot ot their other content. You being so exited and loving all of the members makes me like all of them so much more! Also just if you didnt know and I assume it's same for all artists, they just sung in the room and the only music came from their earpeaces so the staff got an acapella show! And they just added the audio on top afterwards.

Anitra, I think the only good thing about Kai's enlistment is Sehun singing his lines perfectly fitting Kai's tone and warmth. Like, I didn't hear a lot of difference in any of the songs. EXO are such hard working vocalists, constantly growing. I'm so glad I have you, who knows all the shyte the guys had to go through, but they stuck together and kept showing up no matter what, they've become closer than family at this point, through thick and thin together. You're one of the very few reactors I keep being subscribed to because for me you're the og exol, who knows what this KV means, what each comeback or ep means not only for us, but for EXO themselves. ❤❤❤❤
