The fact that MAMA is their debut song and its this mind blowing, their vocals and dance moves are amazing! The music video gives out hints to tell us which members in EXO-M and EXO-K are ‘connected’. In the video for EXO-K more explicitly points out the EXO-M member that is the ‘alternate identity‘ of each EXO-K member. Chanyeol (fire) and Kris (flight) are connected through their summons, one a phoenix and one a dragon. The phoenix is revived through fire, and the dragon creates fire. Also, Chanyeol communicates to Kris through the form of a flaming feather, which most likely comes from the phoenix. Baekhyun (light) and Lay (healing) both have powers that are “holy” or good. In the MV for EXO-K, it shows Baekhyun blasting a light spell into a mirror, which assumably connects to Lay. And in the EXO-M MV, Lay is seen sitting in the same place, reviving/healing a flower in front of him. One interpretation is that Baekhyun supplies Lay with his light powers so that Lay can use his healing powers. In other words, Baekhyun’s light power is the fuel that Lay uses to harness his healing powers. Sehun (wind) and Tao (time control) are connected through a butterfly. I’m not really sure how their powers connect But MV explicitly shows a connection between them because they communicate through the butterfly. Sehun is sitting in the middle of a barren land. He is completely still, but surrounding him are fast and powerful tornadoes. In contrast, Tao is seen moving quickly and powerfully (doing his martial art moves, while his surroundings are completely still (due to his time control powers). Suho (water) and Xiumin (ice/frost) have a very strong connection through the element of water. Suho supplies water to Xiumin, and Xiumin creates ice with the given water. Also, in the EXO-K MV, you can see that Xiumin is Suho’s “parallel universe buddy” when Suho wipes the mirror, and his reflection changes into Xiumin. D.O. (earth) and Chen (lightning) have opposite and balancing elements. There are two things in the MV that connect D.O. and Chen together. The first is that both interact with the ground. D.O. stomps on the ground to create an earthquake, while Chen (for some reason) touches the ground in order to produce lightning. The second thing is that in the end shot, the two are shown as opposites, or two sides of the same coin. Kai (teleportation) and Luhan (telekinesis), besides having powers that both have “tele” in their names, are connected through movement. (Just my own interpretation) As seen in the MV, he is ‘trapped’ in a room nothing but those glass ball thingy. It’s like, the twelve powers need someone to travel between both worlds in order to serve as a mediator, or a source of communication between the two worlds (besides butterflies and mirrors), so in order to keep everything balanced, Luhan confines himself to one room, sacrificing his ability to travel in order to give Kai more power or range of motion.

Okay, Savy, you asked for it. You have to forgive this long explanation, but I will be as thorough as possible since I have been an Exol even before the fandom had been given the name "ExoL". This is Sony from Hawaii🌺 I discovered Exo in 2011, with their predebut songs "What Is Love" and "History". They officially debuted in April 2012. But SM introduced Exo to the world with the two predebut songs/mv...and boy, if that didn't cause quite a stir for kpop fans worldwide. Not only were these boys beautiful, but very talented. Many were discovered in grade school, so they had to keep it a secret from classmates that they were trainees for SM. They continued their schooling and graduated, some already newly graduated, and almost all continued their college education either online or physically at the campuses, all along training hard through the night, or studying. They, along with their parents, signed their SM contracts, then started living in the dorms at SM. When they were ready, these 12 boys were put into a group with the craziest concept...which proved very intriguing, and very different, to the public. The CEO of SM, Lee Soo-man, had this concept in his mind for years....and Lee Soo-man was a very popular crooner himself in his early years, so when he started SM, he knew how to spot talent right away. Mr. Lee envishioned his concept as a boy group, and as he discovered the right boys, he ran with it.... Back in the 70's, in South Korea, there was a UFO sighting....it was photographed and on the news....12 UFO's in the sky....not sure if Mr. Soo-Man saw them with his own eyes, but many citizens did. All I know is it was a profound memory of Mr. Soo-man, almost to the point of being so disturbing, he could not forget it... Now on to the SM Entertainment Company. SM had many great, successful groups at this time, from early 2000's on. Like SuperJunior, Shinee and TVXQ. (TVXQ, Rain and BigBang brought me into Kpop) But I fell in the Kpop hole at that time, and previously had been into Kdramas and movies that would be on my Korean tv channel that was part of my cable line-up. Then like commercials, kpop groups would pop up and I said "hold on, what is this?" I was already disenchanted with the American music scene, except for a chosen few artists that are my favorites. But when a kpop group came on tv, first,....I freaked out on their clothing, the hairstyles, and the guys had makeup on....nah, nah, that's not right, is this a gay movement? (it was something I had to get used to, it was a kpop thing, but you know...stupid American with stupid American preconceived assumptions) But what got me hooked was the VOCALS! And the dancing... ARE YOU KIDDING ME? And the production that went into the mvs, AMAZING! And I'm talking all kpop artists, not just SM artists.... America has nothing like this! Kpop highly attracted me, little by little.... Then SM announced they wanted to create a new boy band...Mr. Soo-man was going to make his dream concept come true. The country was scouted through school rumors and talent competitions. And they were also looking for Chinese boys as part of the group. So imagine all the boys that came out to try-out, in various parts of the country....Chinese boys came came China to participate. So, here is Mr. Soo-man's long awaited concept: (some of the story was explained at the beginning of the "Mama" mv) Exo are aliens from another planet, their planet, Exoplanet. They are legends, or powers, which are buried deep within "The Tree of Life", giving it life. "The Tree of Life" is what keeps the balance of the Universe. The dark forces of the Universe, called the Red Force, want to covet these powers, and use them for evil purposes. So the Red Force find Exo in The Tree of Life and kills the tree, making it split open, exposing the legends. The Good Forces of the Universe take the 12 legends, split them into two groups, and hide them on different planets....they are constantly being chased through the Universe, hiding on different planets... Exo's powers are used to keep the Universe in balance, and to help protect and preserve life. Exo sees this planet called Earth. It is seething with turmoil, hate, wars and death. They decide to reunite, all 12 of them, on this Earth, with the objective being helping preserve and protect life. They do not know what love is, as it is a human trait. So they reunite on Earth, and disguise themselves as humans, actually students at a high school, hence the various grey school uniforms in the mv "Growl". At the time Exo members were so young, they fit the student image perfectly. Now SM knew what they were doing. They comprised Exo as 2 subgroups....6 Korean members in Exo-K, and 6 Chinese members in Exo-M, M for Mandarin Chinese. But in Exo-M there were 4 actual Chinese members but 2 Korean members who also spoke Chinese. With Kpop gaining a surprising popularity all over Asia at the time, especially many Chinese fans, SM knew that if they had a Chinese subgroup, they could easily corner the Chinese market with a kpop group that also sang in Chinese....well played Mr. Soo-man. Exo are students at a high school, and disguised as humans, they slowly begin to take on traits of humans, like infatuation and jealousy, as boys will be boys, and rival one another after school, either protecting a school girl from school bullies, or fighting over a girl. (part of an Exo drama at the time) Oh, have I mentioned, they have the ability to turn into wolves when angered? Yep, and they can roam in packs at night, especially under the cover of darkness from an eclipsed moon. Hence the mv "Wolf", where they always begin with portraying The Tree of Life with their arms, swaying in the breeze, the angry wolves hiding in the tree, in the forest. Both mvs "Wolf" and "Growl" are like warnings, "stay away from that girl", or "beware of them, when angered, watch out, their claws are dangerous", and they howl like wolves too. Now I'm proud to say I have been with a kpop group from conception..the very beginning...from their introduction to the world by SM with the predebut mvs "What Is Love" and "History" in 2011, to the grown up Exo of today. When Exo, AND their concept were introduced, I laughed and thought to myself, "wtf is up with these Koreans?" (no disrepspect intended) "What an off the wall concept... that ain't gonna fly, c'mon!" Then I saw the beautiful face of Kai😍......then I was hit with the vocals... And on my Korean tv channel I started watching all shows and news looking for Exo anything....the concept was fun, I started getting into it, if only to hear their beautiful vocals...the dancing was a big bonus! The visuals too! So you have the lowdown on Exo.. In the meantime, yes, secretly in the background, the Red Force is following them. All Exo mvs have a connection and continuing storyline.....there are some fans that dive into theories, some sound interesting, but it makes my head spin. Exo became a household name in 2012-2013, and a fandom quickly grew around the world. SM gained a massive fandom in China too, just as Mr. Soo-man projected. All 12 members learned both Korean and Mandarin. Both subgroups sang in said language, whether Korean or Mandarin. Botb groups recorded in said language, and both groups made separate mvs of the same song in said language.. But in either mv, all 12 members appeared somewhere in the mv....and for appearances on tv shows, variety shows, game shows....they all spoke the language depending if in Korea or China. They started working really hard, started winning awards, right out the gate...as a very young newbie group. It was crazy! Their concept was loved by the public, they ate up! And after "Growl" came out.....game over. They became superstars, literally overnight, around the world! They gained a massive fandom, worldwide, and became very successful. Exo bought SM another building, really! And with all the projects Exo are involved in besides Exo group music, they have become very lucrative over the years.... It's a shame that SM showed lousy treatment of the Chinese members that led to Luhan, Kris and Tao to eventually leave....very overworked boys, to the point of injury.....not wise of SM.....they lost members that were well loved. The fans hated SM for that. But it sure made SM rich... After the 3 Chinese members left and went back to China to pursue singing and acting careers .......Lay is the last Chinese member of Exo, so technically there are 9 members in Exo. The remaining 8 are Korean. They have downplayed the alien concept considerably these days, but never entirely. After the 3 Chinese members left, SM decided to just make one group, Exo, no K or M....but they continued to record the title tracks of each album with a Chinese version on the album for the Chinese fans. But all controversies that Exo faced over the years till today hasn't fazed the fandom one bit....rather the fandom is very protective of Exo, and that's worldwide. Exo has toured the world, and is constantly working and traveling, yet is more loved than ever... yes the Red Force reared it's ugly head in the "Obssession" mv, but Good, revolutionary Exo will always win. Hi Savy.. This is EXO debut Mv but they have 2 Mv's which are What is Love and History before this (their predebut)..What is Love showcases their vocals mainly Baekhyun and D. O for EXO-K and Luhan and Chen for EXO-M (the main vocalists of each subgroup) and History showcases their dance..This two songs have Mv's which comes first before their debut song MAMA..Please check What Is Love and History first because it is the beginning of their story and is a big part in EXO storyline..

Good reaction. I want to introduce you to a Korean singer. She is such an amazing singer and you won't stop being blown away by her every performance! She originally started out as a Gospel Singer in her church and worked her way up from there. But the reason why she is not mainstream and everywhere is since her reasoning for singing is not for fame or money but to sing for God. Michael Jackson's vocal coach once offered to make her a big star worldwide but she declined politely. She had cervical cancer when she was young, but now she's much better. So she's trying to be humble and do good. Please react to her songs, this is not the end of her amazing singing! But this should get you started.
