well split happened few decades ago to dentists asistents and technicians..it was one profesion back then one person was doing all ..then dentistry become to big to be done by one person so split happened ..nowdays dentistry is same super massive but with indroduction of CAD and CAM it started slowly to pull back to one person job.. ofcours Dentists have advantage in that because they do the clinical work so patients are coming to them ..if technology keeps to progress at this speed in a decade or two Dtechnicians gonna be extinc or nearextint speacies .. the same thing happened in another professions so yea.. for example a portret painters like rembrant picaso etc they had talant but latter such ppl were repleaced by photographers ..and today u can take a picture with your smartphone in a split of a second
