every time I listen to this I realize that the re-make was so unnecessary. Modern technology or not...this holds its weight in gold!!!!!! Paul ruled!!!!!!!
It wasn't necessary per se, but the remake is still very good. I like this version a lot, but the other one solves the issue of one of the guitars being underpowered compared to the other one in the solo of the original.
Paul sounds much more satanic. Overall a much rawer and evil sound on this original. Remake may appeal more to some, but this is the only version for me. Remastered version merely caters to the modern idea of metal. It has no soul, just another shout bang bang song
Holy smokies, the opening harmony or chord of this song is just amazing, as stirring as anything Beethoven or any other effing timeless musician ever wrote.
Paul is absolutely one of the greatest vocalists and frontmen in all of heavy metal and thrash metal. The guy sounds borderline insane, sounds from a mental asylum. As well as mixing some angry heavy punk-like vocals on it. Ahhh how I miss Paul 😪 R.I.P. POSER WASTER 🤘🏼❤❤❤

Well i agree show no mercy isnt really slayer's finest hour, but wasn't bonded by blood released in the same year as hell awaits (years after show no mercy)? And that album has songs like 'at dawn they sleep', which is as impressive and ambitious as this song
I love slayer but Exodus was always the heaviest band imo, I LOVE Jeff Hanneman and he was definitely on par with venom celtic frost and Gary Holt. Imo I feel like Gary is a better riff writer and composer too. I wish Jeff was still alive who knows maybe those 2 wouldve formed a band better than Exodus and Slayer :( at this point Gary Holt holds the world title as greatest metal musician and thrash riffer/shredder ever... I mean this song is a straight HEADBANGER for 7 whole fuckin minutes!!!!!!!!!!

@@wesdryden2382 And for your information and what everyone knows is that Bonded By Blood was written years before Hell Awaits, it just wasn't released untill 1985, so you see Slayer wasn't the be all end all of Thrash Metal, there was also another band from L.A called Dark Angel which Slayer were actually intimidated by, Darkness Descends was also written and released before Reign In Blood and influenced that classic.
