Amazon Aurora has made significant performance advancements including the launch of Aurora Optimized Reads, support for pgvector with HNSW indexing, and integration with Knowledge Bases for Amazon Bedrock. This means Aurora Optimized Reads with HNSW indexing now provides 20x faster queries per second with high recall - and it’s cost-effective! To make it easier to do RAG, Aurora’s integration with Knowledge Bases for Amazon Bedrock means the ingestion and runtime orchestration workflows are automated.
