@@Rehan_____ haha sorry maybe it was a bit short so it could sound like a joke. No it’s for real. I have used finasteride since summer 1999 so wow it’s almost 25! years now. And I think it saved my hair. I really started to loose a lot the three years before I started to take it. When I started taking it my Hairloss more or less stopped and the first 2-3 years I took I I also saw some regrowth.
@@litjellyfish I heard that finastride loses it's efficacy after 5+ years. I have started finastride from this week at norwood 2.5. i am 25yo atm. What's the dose that you take?
@@Rehan_____ naw that is just some bullshit. Why would it? I mean what could make it suddenly stop blocking DHT. It’s a DHT blocker. It’s not like the body builds up any tolerance to that. Ah then you are almost exactly as me. I was 25y when I started and more or less same. I would say I now have a little higher hairline in general and a little more thinning all over tempes forehead. But not much. So I use when needed depending on styling. Scalp makeup and fibers. I started with 1mg a day the normal dose. After 5y I tried go down to half and I did not see any less effect so I kept that dose. So today I take a 5mg pill. Cut it in quarters and take a quarter Monday Wednesday and Friday so it’s basically 0.5mg a day. Also about sides. I really had little to none. But there was some. My chest hair (which I had little of to start with) turned finer and lighter. Also my ejaculation got less thick. No problem with libido or erection or such. Checked sperm count which have been fine.
Maybe we need some notes about the negative responders. Do they smoke, drink alcohol, do they eat well, do they take drugs or do they lower their stress? These are all factors, which also play major role in the effectiveness of hair regen
A lot of these studies of successful rate % for Fin don't even separate for age -- which I wish they did. I believe younger guys in their 20s can bounce back easier than guys in their 30s and 40s. It makes sense because the androgen sensitivity is what changes as we get older. Secondly, those guys that don't find success with Fin could have other underlying health issues (thyroid, hormone imbalance, Vit deficiency), that could be the culprit, which is why blood tests are so important.
One of the conclusions of the 10 year Finasteride study was that subjects with minor hairloss showed better responses than subjects with advanced hairloss. the former typically being younger men, the latter typically being older men. So yes, it's already known that the sooner you take fin, the better the results will be.
@@dallaslooksmaxxer3505 But it's not because of fucking age lmao. It's because when you are balding, as you get older, NATURALLY YOU LOSE MORE HAIR THAN A YOUNG BALDING PERSON. Finasteride works only, if you have hair. It doesn't "regrow" hair follicles, it stops them from miniaturization. Therefore the earlier you take preventive measure the better results you will get
Can you maybe do a video on how to microneedling/dermaroll correctly? I’m about to start my “hairjourney”. Minoxidil+Finasteride+Microneedling. I got the Dermaroller already 0.5mm but I have no idea how much pressure I need to apply or whatever. Does the whole 0.5mm have to penetrate my scalp? Can’t find a proper tutorial online
A couple things that helped me a lot in my hair gains is getting a shampoo that don't have laureth sulfate in it as these harsh cleansing agents strip the important moisturizing natural oils in your scalp .plus when i start using my topicals i put tretinoin first on my scalp before using the topical and let it dry a little ,than use the topical .much better penetration
Consistency is key as well as eating healthy and working out. Ive been using Min and Fin for a year and I finally trimmed the hair on top and there have been improvements! Im also 30 yrs old.
I got lucky. I started at 50 at a Norwood 3. I had recession at the corners and a small bald spot on the crown. 18 months later, I still can’t believe the results. This treatment reversed the clock to when I was 25. Corners filled in, bald spot gone, my stylist scratching her head trying to understand what was happening! I would compare my results to a 1200-1500 graft transplant. What I found amazing was the fact that it started working on me during the first week,,,I know people are going to say thats impossible. While driving my car, I looked in my rear view mirror and seen something different. I noticed a bunch of thin hairs on my corners that were not there the week prior. 18 months later, my corners are full and thick! I am using less than the prescribed amount because my topical lasts 4.5 months and not the 3 months it is supposed to. In summary…for me it WORKS awesome. I use the topical version with topical minoxidil included. I have old pics when I was in my 20’s and my hair is back to that level. Highly recommend. 😎
awesome to hear man!! i got a transplant last week but i will be starting topical fin+min combo in a month to thicken everything up. i probably should have experimented with that first like you did since ive never tried any medication but i was just so tired of all the info that i went with the transplant first.
i use a natural anti-hairloss lotion of 100ml added with extra 5ml minoxidil and 0.1 ml topical finasteride , twice a day , with 5-6 drops from the lotion pump the bottle has , twice a day . Do you guys think thats a lot of finasteride? i never worried about it until now that i see all those different dosages etc.
i have grade 6 baldness & its genetic from my mother side, i m using fin 1mg & min 5% from last 2 weeks, so is their any chance getting those hair back or HT needs to be done ?
I lost almost my hair. Tried all herbal products didn’t work, Thank Godness to finesterdie and minoxidle I got all my hair back and that is without dermoroller. Been on it for 4 months now. Am happy 😊.
Been on finasteride, dutasteride, oral minoxidil, lasercap, supplements etc for years and years and still gradually lose hair,go figure. Basically Ive thrown the kitchen sink at my hairloss and I still slowly lose hair. Bloods are all perfect. Hair loss is a cruel cruel genetic flaw.
Unfortunately, that is also possible. There will always be poor responders :( You can still be lucky though, and end up ''only'' as a NW5-6, which is still possible to transplant successfully in multiple sessions.
@@letsgethair Im 45 years old, started finasteride at age 27 so been on fin for 18 years and threw avodart into the picture at age 32 so been on avodart for 13 years also. Do you think the body becomes immune when being on these meds as long as I have and the efficacy decreases or they stop working altogether?? Would love your opinion on this.
@@bartbollen8166how often are you fapping? Make sure you aren’t fapping no more than once a week. Maybe even once a month if you’re serious about your hair
I got my heart broken for the first time back in 2016. But I would love to go through the same pain if God offers me a full head of healthy hair for a lifetime in return!
matt before both your transplants, when you where balding quite significantly, did you start taking finasteride before this balding reached that level? or had you not discovered it yet? im just worried finasteride wont save my hair enough once i start balding
You shouldn't have to take it soo early , you should probably go to a Dr and see what vitamin you're deficient in , you're most Likely lacking something
@publicpianist bruh 22 ? Wow man , solid advice to a person that's 18 , you know the effects start to go down , you don't just keep the same results forever, you could of instead figured out what was wrong with your DHT levels and prevents it that way
@@loves2smooch384Some people bald as soon as they hit puberty. I started losing mine 14 abeit very slowly.. a guy in my high school was completely bald NW6 by 18 and was shaving his head at like 16
I am currntly on finasteride only. At 17.5 For more than 3 weeks And i have a beard its not complete yet but for now I see a lit bit slower growth rate But before was super fast but no worries
@@a.n_nima bruh go to the Doctor , find out what nutrient you're deficient in , see I'm 30 and I'm thinking about starting Fin, you're just too young bruh , I think you should go the natural way first
Does that Finasteride product have Titanium Dioxide (E171) in it? Because that ingredient is widely used and unfortunately it is highly cancerogenic and stays in human body. Hair is important, but cancer is a bigger problem. Both Propecia and Proscar have titanium dioxide (E 171) in them unfortunately. I'm just trying to find a finasteride that doesn't have Titanium Dioxide (E171) in it. Thanks
Many people don’t see massive results cause they give up early or inconsistent. And also there are Tretinoin and microneedling to improve results. It depends how much you want.
Hey Matt, I just watched your video and I must say that it was really informative and well-made. I was wondering if I could help you edit your videos and also make highly engaging shorts for you, as well as make highly CTR thumbnails for you?
Had a similar issue if you watched my 12-month OM update. Contacted my prescribing physician. He told me to get off and if the symptoms persist, contact a cardiologist. I am without issues more than 1 month after stopping OM.
@@letsgethair I saw that video. The good news is that I don't think I've made any significant gains from minoxidil- even before I went on finasteride, I was on minoxidil for 3 months and I ended up stopping because I saw no signs of regrowth. I feel like majority of people respond really well or poorly to topical minoxidil, and I believe I haven't gotten much benefit out of it. The only way to find out is to get off of it.
Topical minoxidil is available in any pharmacy or marketplace with no prescription. Oral minoxidil requires a prescription because its systemic impact may have noticeable effect on the heart. So you missed a key factor in your comment to give us a clear picture. Was it oral minoxidil or topical?
In regards to responsiveness of fin. I've been having doubts on some generic brands. In NA some people swear by generics Aurobindo and Accord, while some also give bad reviews to Accend or other brands. Obviously the gold standard is going propecia or cutting proscar, but the cost is a bit much for some. I saw a post on reddit that people who switch between brands, like if their pharmacy received a different batch of generics, they go through a massive shedding phase when switching to the new brand. This makes me curious on efficacy of different brands as they should all work if they have the main ingredient right?
people will literally try to blame everything on some random shit. People hate self-introspection and hate taking responsibility and they hate the concept of "something happening without a reason" (as in the case of "natural disasters"). There is no difference between generic and branded. They all have to go through testing, if they want to be put as a real medicine that works. The fear mongering only works for brands like propecia and other brands lmao and that is their imperative.
3 years on finasteride, 2 years minoxidil/needling, 4 months oral minoxidil. Not much response. Praying for a cure. Considering dutasteride, but I don't think that would be enough. I need verteporfin.
Man, I'm praying for a cure soon too. I really think it will happen with hair cloning in the next two or three years. F*ck, I was about 55 years old before I started losing ANY hair. Now I'm 63, but have lost at least 90% on top. Shit, you have good hair for 55 years and absolutely no balding in your family, you aren't prepared for this. I'm about to look into a transplant, even if they have to harvest beard and chest hair. I'm blessed that money isn't an issue at all, I;ll be able to seek out the best surgeons. I just don't want a crappy outcome. And so far, none of the topical shit is doing anything for me, I think I waited too long to expect good results. So, I doubt it will help me maintain transplanted hairs. And I'm not about to do oral finasteride. I might be balding, but at least at 63 I'm still blessed not to have erection issues, not about to take a pill that might fuck that up too!
Hello to everyone! I am on the 6th month mark of taking fin(1mg) and oral minoxidil(5mg)! I am 27 to 28 years old, i have already had a hair transplant (1800 grafts ,if i want to get a second one as the doc said me ,i will have almost 3000-3500 grafts available and also i will use beard and chest hairs")not so successful i guess (the ht but at some point it gave me a better hair view in the front area)but the results of the drugs are very good for my situation and due to the circumstances,,its clearly better than before,,i am gonna continue taking fin and oral minoxidil and i hope that it keeps getting better and better! I wanted to ask,,if fin works for me( i have aggresive hair loss, thats something the doctor said to me) then i must change to dut or continue to take fin and oral minoxidil as long as it works for me?? I am almost 28 years old as i said before,,thank you !!
hey matt, I have been using finasteride for 2 years now starting with 0.25 mg Every other day to 1 mg a day according to your and Kevin Mann's advice. Thanks to that. My results have been okay but not great. I would say I have maintained for the most part. I am thinking about adding minoxidil now after 2 years on finasteride. Is this a good thing to do right now? What could be expected in terms of hair growth if I were top start minoxidil. I have lots of miniaturized hairs on my hairline, will these grow with minoxidil's help? Please help me understand this situation.
Yeah deffo use it, I personally don't find it cumbersome to use it every day/ twice a day, it actually feels good knowing the drug makes you look better! I will have no trouble using it for life!
This is the thing about Fin and Minoxidil. Guys expect too much results and start using the drugs waaay too late. I'm not saying this is your situation, but some men expect to go from almost bald to having a full head of hair by jumping on Fin. Start early. If you can keep your already existing hair, THAT'S awesome and something that I'd be more than happy about!
@letsgethair a year ago.. i started with 0.25 for 3 times a week. The first 3 quarters were normal.. the fourth quarter !!! Bruh, I swear I have never ever lived a nightmare like i had for two days.. I didn't feel my penis like it was disconnected from my body. I had bad brain fogg, and i felt so depressed it lasted for two days, and on the third day, i woke up with a boner and everything went way on the day. And i swore I'll never touch it again. I spoke with a well-known consultant, and he said you were lucky cause it happened so fast, and the sides went so fast as well. I think it is not for me. Im the least lucky ones who fin is not for them. I thought seriously to speak to you about my chances since Im an old subscriber, i guess, since 2017, and i watch the improvements of your channel and your English accent as well, looool I'll book for a consultation session with you soon Talk to you soon, buddy
Doctor please reply Hi. Im taking 1 mg of finasteride everyday since 2 months. when i try to mstrb*te and im at the climax and is trying to ej*culate, the semen comes normally for few seconds then the e**jculation flow of semen is stopped for 1 or 2 seconds and then continues again at last for max 1 seconds. Means somewhere in between the pleasure and the flow of semen stops. What problem might be this. There were some sort of signs of ed before i took the medicine too. What problem is this. I could only find out in google it might be retrograde or dry ej#culation. Is it true? If so are there any solutions to cure it even without stopping the medicine or should i stop the medicine forever.
