I'm self taught as well! I've only taken gymnastics since I was 8 (I'm 13 now) but most of the stuff I know, I've taught myself :) Also, congrats on your back handspring! It's not easy to stick, but trust me; once you've mastered it, you'll be able to do back tucks and so much more! Keep up the good work! :) ~Kenz

Thank you guys! Just keep working and push yourself to your goal :) I started this summer 2016 (i'm 13) and I couldn't even do a cartwheel.. but I practised many hours everyday and pushed myself to I got dizzy and uncomfortable. But it's SO worth it! Cause I LOVE gymnastics

I'm self taught level 3 ( except for back handspring) but coach taught level 2. I taught myself how to do a cartwheel front walkover front limber backwalkover onehandedfrontwalkover and some other skills!

just a little tip while doing skilled where you are going forward for example cartwheel, handstand, front walkover, you always want to keep you leg and back in a perfect line until you are on your hands

I am self taught! I used to have heart problems so could not continue to train in a gym :( I started to train myself to do roundoff backhandsprings!I am now going to a gym and can do a roundoff Backtuck!You are such a inspiration!dont ever give up!

I just started gymnastic but I am self taught. This channel and another is really helping me improve. I have started stretching and learning yesterday, doing this can be VERY frustrating especially when you firt start but I try to get past that and learn. Gymnast. I am mainly self trained. Every once in a while I will go to an open gym and have some other workers spot me. Sometimes I even go to gymnastics camps during the summer. Really helps

Rumour has it, if you're early Lydia replies. Hey Lydia, I've been a self taught gymnast for a while and I just recently started gymnastics. On Thursday, my coach told me to go in a handstand against the cheese mat and put your hands to the mat. I found that so difficult and instead of keeping my body straight it kept slumping. Have any tips? And, I have a video suggestion. Maybe something to do with Halloween and a montage of your beam skills? Thanks, Lyd! Love ya

I'm a gymnast and have had the same problem as u. I recommend practicing handstands against the wall or filming yourself in slo mo to see what ur doing wrong. Hope that helps

Gymnast AnnaLilly Hi! I've been doing gymnastics for 9 years now, for your handstand tighten your core muscles and legs. Push up through your shoulders, you can try this this 'right way up' by pushing your arms up. Try it against a wall so your stomach is against the wall, this should force you to keep your shape.
