Hi Friends, Today, I'm sharing with you some popular luxury items I regret buying and you would too buying these for your wardrobe. I'm sharing some expensive luxury mistakes to avoid, including why I don't think the hyped Ikea Pax Wardrobe system is worth the money, a huge mistake you're making while luxury shopping, pieces by The Row that aren't worth your money, and rare Hermes bags I regret buying. These are things I don't buy any more and some expensive luxury lessons I've learned.

I appreciate your honesty and candour. Sometimes I think the Row is utter genius, but other times I wonder if its a case of Emperor's new clothes. Would you consider you doing an expanded Best/Worst of The Row ?!

Since moving some years ago I stopped displaying handbags etc. I have them in dust bags on shelves with hanging tags, this way they stay clean . Some unworn items I have in storage and am considering disposing of. Costume jewelry I have on covered trays with a photo on top so they’re protected and I can find them. Keeping items from dust, heat and light protects them from fading and discoloration. It’s now fun to see just one piece still out after I’ve used it. Cheers 👍

I definitely fell into the rodeo craze and wanted a collection in every color. I realize now that they will all just sit there because I have my favorites that I use and the others are just a collection piece. I won’t be buying anymore. I do still like to use them for a pop of color, though, because all of my bags are neutrals.

A few issues not mentioned: Knits should never be left on hangers. This will cause the knit to pull out of shape and also leave a stretch mark from the hanger. An exception can be very lightweight knits like cashmere, or alpaca but be wary about heaviness just from bulk. I just don't ever store knits on a hanger. Dust can be damaging. The reason the pants never fit, is you are not going to be able to make the pants tighter around the crutch. This is because this is a circular shape on the inside, and the only way is to make them smaller is to let them out. It's just too much fabric. Pants cannot easily be able to be made smaller. You have to open up the waistband, make that smaller, then take it in at the back and sides and refit. But the crutch cannot be fixed. Jackets are different, you can nip it in at the seams. But often the collar will gape that needs to come apart and it's tricky. Sleeves can be taken up at the top of the shoulder and reset but lengthening is a nightmare if there is a series of buttonholes.

Hear hear! And definitely agree that a clothing piece should fit you (bar potentially small tweaks) if you are paying that much. As you have demonstrated, big alterations can go badly

I had luck getting a rodeo last yr with real horse hair, and they had some really unique ones drop on the site. But now i can’t even get one from my SA, I have been waiting all year. I have heard a Pegase is as hard to score as a QB currently! Not sure if that’s hyperbole 😂 but I wonder if they just slowed down production or their new VIPs are requesting them, so it’s dry right now. Admittedly it’s not really the best use of $600 lol I think I’ll stop after my Pegase, but the petit h has some really cute charms too that are slept on and just as expensive 🥹

I put my only Pegasus rodeo on my Goyard diaper bag. It’s so cute for a diaper bag, perfect for it, but wouldn’t want more or use it for my Hermes bags.

Hi G, great video! Always love your honest opinion. I regret my RMS passport case, it is a pain to get it in and out of the case while travelling. On top of that, I watched the video that you said we shouldn't buy it and better to get the tarmac instead. I was misinformed and was told that tarmacs were discontinued..not true..😑 so I'm thinking of re-purposing it and use it as a small notebook holder instead. Hopefully, it'll work!! 😅

Agree about the closet. No judgement but I couldn't use Ikea. I'm using a closet company. I have a door to the closet...but once you open the door everything is in the open. The space is too small to put doors inside. You really do have to stay on top of things or it looks messy. FWP!

That doesn’t get to the issue of protecting items from light or hiding clutter/disorganization. It also adds an issue of making dust on the actual door very visible as well as fingerprints and sounds like for him it would also attract dog drool/licks

@@elizabethr9304 he was talking about open shelves for visible enjoyment of items you have or closed doors here is solution where you can see your items nice sitting on shelves but it’s protected from dust and dog hair. Sun? Just don’t place your closet across the window anyway usually closets don’t have windows or close curtains and turn on light. What is the problem?

I have glass doors in my dressing room and the whole furniture set is from Italian designers, with impeccable quality. This is the least to protect my luxury items. I would never buy Ikea wardrobes, the quality is just dreadful... I am baffled to see so many fashion luxury buyers having an Ikea dressing room...
