i always liked doing this kind of druid in lod, i bet with the new sunder charms it will preform even better. I use to use a spirit monarch fcr rings and amulet to reach 99%fcr for 11 frames and i preferred to use skill charms with dex and scs with dex to help me reach max block. I also used a lower resist wand on swap for fun! it really did help to have max block in lod not so sure in d2r though. can't wait to try it in d2r !

What about an act 5 merc with andys, treachery, plague (eth cryptic sword) and greif pb? Tons of IAS, resistances (when fade procs), life leech. Level 17 cleansing aura + lower resist procs. Grief and Plague both have -psn resist so the venom and psn nova procs get a little help too. I'm going to try it out with your druid build (except with a cold sunder added).

I played this build in the legacy, well a very special "home-made" version of it and it was quite fun on Normal and Nightmare. But without Infinity it became unbearably annoying and tedious on Hell. However, I kinda always dreamed about making it work somehow, and then when Sunder charms were introduced in D2R I was like "okay, my mister cold Druid now it's your time". That with another off-meta homebrew build was probably the most expensive and the most time spending ever for me but it was completely worth it. I did end up with a bit of different gear than you (not perfect + using CoH and Spirit shield [alt. Lidless for mana issues which is Godly], Sunder and stuff like that), and if we ignore the fact that I made it a bit more versatile with a couple of different points into pets, I'm very satisfied to see someone else tried and made it work! I do love running with Arctic Blast on top of Hurricane as well, even tho on Hell it's quite less effective than on easier difficulties, but it's still fun and absolutely completely different experience than anything else. People will be surprised how much safety this build is offering, yes the clearing speed is not at "I drop a single lightning jav or a few frozen orbs and everything melts" and I wasn't really building it for the MF purposes (which you could definitely do as you showed here) but it's genuinely refreshing and enjoyable to play and just have fun! :)

Adding a gg pelt with +3 ele, +3 hurricane, +3 nado with 2 socs faceted I think. Also a frenzy merc with plague/ lawbringer/ delerium/ fort would provide solid control while procing decrepify, and lower resistances. Thanks SP, you my ninja.

Had to give it a try, but now my sorc is naked though this build is nuts ty phil :) On a side note if you got mana issues don't waste points in energy, just grab the mana vine for 3 skill points you won't regret.

My frost nova clears pretty fast .i need to post the build because people dont believe im frost nova untill the run starts. Almost 3k frost nova at 105 is alot with a 5.9k blizz on their dome. I run my Armageddon druid just like this build tho

Heyo, I am a disabled gamer and am a fan of the more passive gameplay style as well. I'm rocking in sp and wondering if you had any ideas for passive builds. My goal is auradin/dragondin and I'm 3 Surs and some change deep into getting the build going. But I was trying to think of some others in the meantime (not summoner) like an enchantress with a crazy a5 merc that carries or something. Any ideas along that line of thought?

Yea, I've rolled one before and wasn't a big fan of the gameplay so much. Looking for less buttons to press and not a fan of summoning at the start of every game anymore. I started sp with a Necro and ended up finding a dweb somehow so he's poison and CE now. Not my favorite to play with needing to map all the skills, summons, curse, etc. Hands don't work well anymore.

Strafezon. I only use 2 different skills. Strafe on right click and Guided Arrow on left click. Max strafe requires 60 hard points. 20 into strafe, 20 into Guided Arrow and 20 into Multiple Shot. So you can get there by end Nightmare. The rest of the points you can use to build as you please. Need more attack rating? Pump points into Penetrate. Need a tank? Build a Valkyrie. Want a higher damage output? Critical strike. I love it coz I'm lazy and can just go into a room and machine gun mobs down. It's rather squishy though, that's the only caveat.

Hey that doesn't sound too bad and I have a zon leveled up already. I'm close to being able to make a Mist too (found a good 5os GMB). I'll definitely keep this in mind and research it. Still trying to get my Amazon torch though... I've got 9 torches, still no zon or Barb :/

You pretty much got it down, rest is just putting in reps and getting lucky. If you wanted a change of pace you COULD farm something like ghosts in arcane or w/e because their loot table doesn't include weapons and armor so you find a lot more gems, jewels, charms, jewelry and runes. On as high a player count as you're comfortable with and as much mf as you can muster. I wonder if nm arcane would be secret op since its lower level excludes more unique rings. But in hell you get lots of useful stuff. Honestly though, nm Andy is just the best even though it is super rough. I hear trav is good for jewelry too, friend has found some sojs there but you know... countless runs. I'm still looking for my soj too. Good luck!' PS - I don't think arcane is a great spot to target farm it, just a technicality worth mentioning.

I don't target farm for gear, or at least I did it in max 20 runs... My first and only self-founded SoJ so far dropped from a regular random Hell Bovine on Hell cows on players 1 with 177 mf, on ladder which I don't even play (played it only that one time to experiment with one particular build), and it was something like 1 in 2.6 million drop chance. xd I just bought other SoJs thru trades... Grinding for SoJ on offline would be waaaay too painful, annoying, tedious and boring for me so I don't even bother trying (also they are not THAT necessary). xd

It means they are ladder exclusive, however Blizzard allowed using them on single player (offline). You just can't make those RWs on mp (online) if you are not on ladder. On the other hand, you can play a ladder season, make them there and when it's over it will be converted to the non-ladder from where you can then use it on any other character freely (or trade it away like many does for Mosaics for example).

@@D4V3.0H by off meta I mean if you go into 20 online multiplayer games and ask people their specs, I’d be extremely surprised to find more than 1 hurricane Druid with doom and nw. Wind Druid is meta but that’s more hoto spirit and a 5 nado pelt kinda thing. Technically enchantress passion zeal sorc has been around for 20 years but that is by no means meta.

@@Uncle19I agree. The term "off meta" is new to me. But I completely agree with using hoto + nado pelt over doom + NW. NW definitely gets style points. I would have to calculate the damage difference between the 2 to see if the +/- cold skill damage is worth losing the +skills.... Nado pelts can get pretty expensive but the damage is there... I love playing windy nado druid tho

@@D4V3.0H They are not perfect lifers tho, 1/45s are perfect. :) And yes, this was hero edited somehow because of few things here and there you can see. A little less non-perfect gear still works very much the same, I even went for the looks and have Sacred Armor CoH. 58% Doom, Spirit, 20 Nightwings (with 5/5 facet) but not perfect on dex/energy side, SoJ + RF, Arach, Trangs pretty standard, and then like some crafted high res/stats boots and amu. On swap I was using CtA but then I figured out you don't even have to do that, if you want to really max your dmg output just have a lower res wand and BANG! As I said in my comment, if you don't like chugging those mana pots, you can always use Lidless alternatively (on top of that if you are using Enigma and you lack res you can socket your Lidless with a P.Dia) or something like a Phoenix (less effective since you are using cold dmg all the time and corpses often gets yeeted) which utterly nullifies any mana problems you may encounter. :)

@@lov3masterns yea I just meant they were all the same with 40 life... It would be harder to get all of those than a 1/45. It's all the right gear... I've personally never used hero editor. I guess using it for the sake of researching different gear and builds would make it useful. But for me the hunt for uniques and runes is always what made the game fun and magical. That and the trade economy. Lidless is a classic piece that not many people utilize bc of spirit nowadays but that was always best in slot for any sorc back in the day

Good luck getting through nightmare first with a Druid. I eventually got him into hell at clvl 81. But he almost dies instantly. So with only Druid you’re never going to get those runes for enigma.

That's absolutely rubbish and untrue. Cold Druid, especially the way I was playing it with Hurricane + Arctic Blast combo is a true menace on Nightmare and Normal, you OP everything even on players 8. You can finish Hell in early 70s easily... However before going to Hell you need to get to the point so you can wear at least Doom and Nightwings (aka you gotta farm a lot in NM). I mean, you only have a point if you are gonna do SSF with it, but then again, this is definitely NOT a SSF kinda oriented build in the first place.

I can confirm that you can have almost the same effect with a non-perfect gear as well. I built a very similar build myself, on mp, yes I had to trade a bunch but nevertheless... Even if you swap out some of the top end gear like that 4x 5/5 cold shield you'll still be more than fine. :)

When you see a perfect gear set with a full inventory including torch and anni then it completely defeats the purpose that the masses are interested. If this was elitest only stuff then you would have far fewer players viewing the build. The point is, that it isn't listed as an elitest build.... Because the point is to get as many eye balls as possible even though it will only be a fraction of players who can mimick the build.
