We didn't see much of the cheapo but it seems like a great fun car.....jumped well, smooth, didn't cut out and for 1/10 the price seemed brilliant fun..!! 😀
Doesn't it just fall apart? I had a 1/16th brushless revo the thing was veryfast on 2s and just constantly breaks... diffs/drive shafts and everything in between. These cheapos actually don't seem half bad.
@@javiertrevino2808 RPM replacement parts are much much better then factory and will make it way more durable, aluminium bulk heads and shimming the diffs are a must or another option is a centre diff but they aren’t as fun, they are great when they are modded and the little things that break are addressed
I've got one of these and for the money it's quite good. And yes it's fully ball raced with an all metal transmission and centre diff. It's also reasonably waterproof. I've given it some right abuse and so far nothing has dropped off! 👍🙋😊
Kev, one dirt cheep truck I’ve been wanting you to review is the arrma granite voltage 2wd monster truck. I know you don’t care much for 2wd but a 1/10 scale truck from a name brand for under $100 is hard to look past. Also would love your opinion on the 4wheel steer Axial Capra crawler. Cheers
It put a brushless motor in it... You should do that Kev.... It has decent parts.. just will need bigger battery for the brushless. I think that would be great
I bought a traxxas maxx last month saved so much money just to have every electronic component fail the receiver died the esc died 4 light of death and the motor might be fine but before it died it was not going very fast so I'm assuming that died too
Hey kev I just bought some 3.8 bandito MTs for my maxx v2 and i noticed it was overheating the stock gearing is 23T pinion 50T spur what would you recommend I gear down too I couldn’t find anything online to help me so I was hoping you would have the answers I’m looking for
It'd be nice to match the new MJX hyper go with one of your xmaxes. Preferably the one that you can push the ESC in five times to make it go fast It's the new hyper go truggy. That thing will give your ex-max a run for its money. If you can handle it. Lol😂😂😂
Not everyone wants or can spend 600 on a rc car. And nowadays, we have plenty of "cheap" rc that are actually really good appart from topspeed that is irrelevante for those who dont compeet or simply want a all terrain truck to enjoy some time. Also, inside my garage or at the park, there isn't enough space to do 40mph and if you do, you are going to crash, damage someone property or even worse injur someone.
Kev, can you do the newest redcat volcano epx pro 1/10 scale? I just got one and have done some fine tuning and swapped with a better brushless setup I had sitting around and it's quite fun. I want to see just how much punishment it can take 🤟
Bit off topic but have you seen any of the monster jam from this year? Pretty insane what they can do in them trucks now especially that double back flip attempt in that monster energy truck😬 are you going to send yours once it’s done? Big bucks game I bet with all the repairs the pros must go through🤦♂️
While the cheapo car is a bit crap and slow 😂 looks like it would be great for the kids to get into the hobby 👌 rather than them smashing up a maxx etc. It actually jumped quite well and took the landing 👌
I have a really old rc car that probably stays in the single digits. For some reason I once tried to jump it and as you can imagine it was quite pitiful.
The cheapo actually uses the exact same chassis as the HBX 2995. I have two and they are super good looking and tough as nails. Upgraded one to brushless and a year later it's going strong!
I have the same problem with my Rustler 4x4 VXL the delay in the motor form the Raido is so annoying I want to try a different ESC motor combo in it like a MAX10 combo I've done everything to try to fix the delay endpoints factory resets reprogramming the esc nothing @RichDuperbash put a MAX8 in his MAXX V2 and he said the delay was gone so try a new ESC the VXL ESCs are okay but if they are gonna cause problems I'd rather pay an extra $70 - $100 dollars to get a great ESC that won't die on me early
Hello Mr. Talbot! I am from Belgium and i have been watching your videos for a few months now and i have to say i really enjoy them, thank you for making them and putting your time, money and effort in to them! I do have one question about the ebay-selling. Is it dropshipping that you are talking about or would i need to have the physical products? I am asking because i am interested in buying and following your course...Anyway, love all that you do and all the best of luck to you! Happy New Year🎆🎉
Hey kevin! I love your videos! i have a question tho i have a RC crawler the ''Absima 3,4 crawler '' would u mind testing it out aswell i would to see my car on your channel! Keep it up
Great stuff Kev 😱. The Cheapo actually looked pretty good out there 👀. Same with the Savage. Wondering if you got a junk VXL 💩. Max8 was a game changer for the Maxx. 🍻😎💪👊👊
It could be a nice li'l car if you upgrade the motor to brushless and put some better shocks on it.... I guess. It goes a whole asphalt burning 14mph... wow! Lol. It's not a bad little car for $85 and it didn't cut out like the $600 MAXX. But we didn't see you put it thru that much hell. It's a good starter car for the kids in my opinion; they break it, you're only out about $80. And Interesting video as always, Kev.
The cheap one is actually pretty damn good. I have smaller one to that and it has taken a great beating these past three months and nothing has broken. Only thing that happened was that i stripped the spur gear which they really are metal.
@@Donald_Turnip it might be cheap aluminum casting i believe but the worst part was that there was no grease in there which leads me to think that the gear got hot and kind of shredded a litte bit but also kind of looks melty. Im going to throw a new gear in there and fill the case with grease and see if that works. Unfortunately there are no aftermarket upgrades for these yet that i know of
