A very nice rhapsody of Portuguese places. Portus Gael: The port of the celtic (Porto) and the Schwabish kingdom (Minho and Douro). Rome in Ebora Augusta (Évora) from where we got the language. And the Al-Gharb (The West in Arab). Four founding cultures of what we were. Accompanied by a Fado-Canção (A lighter form of Fado) with a nice Brazilian Bossa Nova twist: a glimpse of what we are now, globalized. Thank You!
Oh gosh, thank you so much for this - especially for putting a name to this type of fado. We knew it was different from performance fado but didn't know what to call it. Also, the confluence of cultures in countries like Portugal is incredibly interesting to us. Thank you for your comment!
@@TalesFromOurPocket Thank you. Although Schwabish and Swabian have the same origin, you will find more information in the internet using 'Swabian kingdom in Portugal'. Sorry. :0)
Yessss. I'd do it again. The only catch was the rain. It would have been much nicer without the rain. If we'd had one more day in the Douro to explore without the rain... Otherwise the lack of people was incredible.
@@TalesFromOurPocket I was just there in May for 17 days (Lisbon, Terceira & Faial Islands, Azores, and Porto). Only a little rain in Porto. I am just in love with Portugal! Your videos gave me many more ideas for places to go the next time I go!
If you're American, yes, you need to be tested before entering Portugal, even if you're vaccinated. For some reason US doesn't have reciprocal vaccine recognition with Portugal!
