This week in the Spanish village of Potries we experience a traditional Spanish fiesta week. These week long events are celebrated across the country, but is Potries one of the craziest one out there?

Great to see a traditional village fiesta rather than the more tourist orientated events in the bigger cities. Nice to see the village come together in such a way. x

Hi Barry and Sarah, It definitely does bring the village together. Even those who have lived here and moved away. There are a lot that come back to the village each year, to visit family at fiesta time . As you rightly say, the events are all aimed at the enjoyment of the village people (Not those of the Y.M.C.A fame) and not to impress those tourists that may stumble upon them. 💜🤟

Wow, thank you for showing us this village fiesta! I cannot believe the sheer amount of variation they managed to throw into it. Love how it went from a serious, religious orientated parade, into the next day of people wearing whatever random item they can throw on including rubber rings 😂 So much going on, and all those tables with food and drink! Is it just in August or do they do several of these throughout the year? Yeah not sure about the firecrackers either, definitely sounded and looked like the village was under attack, can't say I'm ever a fan of them though! Great video, something very different ❤

Hey guys, glad you liked the video. August is the main fiesta for the village, taking the whole week, but there are several during the course of the year. In the August fiesta, the town hall works really hard to make sure there is something for each age group to enjoy. In February there is a 2 day fiesta where the village turns into a food market, with artisanal craft stalls for the weekend. The village has about 500 residents, but on the Sunday, there is often 2000-3000 people in the village. Potríes lives putting on concerts, from our own band, to the choir, to various visiting artists. Each year in August they have a music festival of around 5 days (before the main fiesta) with 2 or 3 concerts a day. The guy who organises it, Ausiàs, is originally from the village, but he lives in Liverpool now and plays the Clarinet for the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, having moved from the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Fiestas are definitely done well here. 😍💜🤟

It's a health and safety nightmare here lovely..! 🤪 With the Fallas statues being burned inches from buildings, people jumping fires and running around with fireworks in there hands or throwing them at houses and people, an inspector from the UK would have a complete breakdown. 🤣😂💜🤟

No CJ. Because we mostly film during the day and my sunglasses are prescription, I don't usually wear those ones. I only wear them when the sun isn't out and I need to see things. 🤣😂💜🤟

Hay una gran diferencia entre una imagen y un ídolo. Una imagen es cualquier tipo de estatua o fotografía que representa a alguien o algo, mientras que un ídolo es un falso dios que se pone en lugar de Dios, como en el caso del becerro de oro. Los católicos no adoran ídolos.
