On March 31, 2024, we captured the mesmerizing performance of Aho-ren at the Awaodori Hall evening show. It had been quite a while since I last watched Aho-ren at the Awaodori Hall, and I was thrilled beyond words. Before the performance began, I couldn't help but feel a mixture of excitement and nervousness! Some attendees had queued up early just to catch a glimpse of Aho-ren, showcasing the group's immense popularity.
Awaodori (Awa Dance) is one of the most famous traditional performing arts in Japan, with its history of more than 430 years. "Awa" is the old feudal administration name for Tokushima Prefecture, and "odori" means "dance". Awaodori Festival in Tokushima City is held from August 12 to 15, attracting over 1.3 million tourists every year.
