We need more reviewers like this guy and less of those "cookie cutter" reviewers who are more interested in how they say something than they are in what they're actually saying.
The 128GB model with 8GB RAM should not exist. 8GB is no longer viable in a true flagship Android phone in 2022. Get the 256GB instead. Also, the 512 and definitely the 1TB model should've had 16GB IMHO.
@@junqianchen7128 smartphones will NEED 16 gb in 8 years most likely, marking a new decade will cause major developments in tech and most likely need more ram no mobile game in 2022 even requires more than 5 gb of ram some let alone 6
There's no reason to complain about the display for the curved edges you know what it is before you buy it, and as far as the size of the screen that's what people see before they get it's a large screen, they have an option to buy the regular s22 if they like
You were listening to music on S22 Ultra in Portrait mode, no no no, put it in lanscape mode and listen to stereo sound. the sound defaults to Standard on the EQ, change it to at least Pop or Rock. The best sound I have ever heard from a phone.
I really love the S22U. Mine went from another test unit, to my full time device. Having tested a lot of phones since 2006, I settled on this. The camera is excellent if you know what you're doing, and its the best travel camera, hands down. Mine was clunky, that is until I removed the companies enterprise software.
I prefer curved displays. With the current technology, accidental touches are a thing of the past and accidental touches can also occur with flat screens, particularly if you are trying to do things with one hand. However, curved displays are much more ergonomic when it come to using gestures. Swiping from the edge of your screen using navigation gestures on a flat screen can be downright uncomfortable.
Love the reviews you have man, this one especially. I think you kinda missed out w the 8/128 version cause I been using one with 12gb (exynos) and it's definitely not as laggy as this one. Also have "ram plus" or something maxed but idk if that does anything
@@iAmPaulObelley I would say little to none that I experienced. I tried quickly opening apps and going to home and repeating that quickly and it was a loot more fluid than in your video. Basically flawless, lot more like the iPhone. I didn't understand why they decided to make a 8/128gb version anyway. Apart from the fact my "system" takes up 49gb's, 8gb of ram isn't particularly ultra. Did you order yours after pre-orders? In the US they offered a free spec bump from 8/128 to 12/256 from what I saw. In the EU I only got the buds pro (your review on those is spot on btw) and a third party 15% pre-order discount.
I've been rocking my S22 Ultra and it's flawless - no lag at all. I've been using it without a case for a month and I have no scratches. That being said, I do take caution about where I put it because I saw many complaints about it. But all in all, I absolutely LOVE my phone 🙌🏾
Speakers are alright. I don't really use my phone for music without headphones....... if you turn on the developer on your phone. You can simply scale down the animation to make the phone feel a little smoother
I always hear people talking about Samsung lag, but I've had the S2, S6, S9 plus, and now the S22 ultra, and no lag in any of them to this day. The one thing I do, is keep all my apps up to date. I usually keep well over a 100 apps on my phone so there's always something that needs updating. Out of date apps can and will slow your device down and make it run wonky.
I agree with you flat screens are the best overall, curved screen is just aesthetics and makes the screen vulnerable... The phone is not big enough in my opinion, I love big screen phone's and regret missing out on the Huawei Mate 20 X with the 7.2 inch screen which my friend is still rocking, even today it makes most Samsung flagships look mediocre in looks, reliability, battery and performance
6'8 is the perfect size for a smartphone if you think it's too big for you than you need to downgrade to a s22 anyone that complains about this phone is a isheep apple fan boy this phone is flawless on all aspects. If you hate curve displays than buy a galaxy s22 or 22 plus people sound so freaking stupid like there are other phones out there that are flat displays.
Not all the S22 Ultras lag. I use the Spen daily for various task. I'm sorry you had a bad experience with your phone. My S22U Snapdragon runs smoothly.
I have an iPhone 13 Pro which I love. I had the s21 Ultra before which was a good phone and I love the camera flexibility however the size of it and the curved screen sent me back to Apple. I much prefer smaller phone with flat screens. Hope Samsung do similar to Apple and a have a smaller ultra alongside the large version and get rid of the curved screens.
I'm no Samsung sheep but all it ever seems that you tech reviewer ever does is complain about the little stuffs that no one's give a 🤬 about. The average person is not going to be seeing a lot of the nit picking things that you guys are complaining about. If it's a good phone 🤳 📱 talk about the phone and stop finding excuses that are so trivial. That's why I don't watch these videos..I would rather go do research then go into a store look for the high end phone, and make my purchase. If I follow you tech influencer I wouldn't have anything nice kmt SMH 😒 🙄 😑
I also have the Snapdragon version of the 22 Ultra, 256 gig an 12 gigs of ram. Same lag problems you pointed out in this video. Beautiful phone but if you do too much is gets glitchy fast.
Excellent review Paul 👌🏽 keep up it up. One of the most consistent and honest reviews on this platform.🥳🎉🎊😎👌🏽👌🏽💯 I be sticking with my Note 20 Ultra 512GB plus I have a 512GB Samsung memory card installed, maybe I'll try next years Ultra Samsung phone. ARM messed up their architecture so all android processors suffer from throttling 😤😤
The same reason dummies get the iPhone when it only get up to 6 gb of ram... like are you serious and that dumb???🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ forgot yall don't got the option to do the things we can
Coming from an iPhone user.... anybody that says this phone is disappointing is very wrong...... other than the battery life everything about this phone beats the iPhone
I have the 12GB 512 GB variant with SD, no lag, none. My phone have already crossed 210GB of storage. Haven't seen any lag, any. And I've used s10, note 20 ultra exynos, fold 3..none of them had this kind of lag/stuttering. Yes it may respond a split second later once in 1000 times but never this bad. And this is why i have iPhone 12 Pro max as my secondary phone coz its just good for battery backup.
I guess I'm one of those minorities who really appreciates the curved displays of phones... The curve doesn't bother me at all and I would never go back to flat phones again
Man.. I'm so happy you showed that google maps lagging issue... I mean what is that? Google maps on a flag ship Android device like that SHOULD NOT LAG!!. I thought it was just my phone having problems.
I dislike flat didplays a prefer curved displays. No longer fo they have yhe problems that cutved displays initially had with accidental touches, but they a nicer (finger friendly) when it comes to gesture navigation. Display and cameras are great and battery life is ver good. I usually have around 50% left I ho to bed. I usually get up sometime around 5:30 and have about 7.5 hrs sot. The S Pen seals the deal as there's nothing else on the market that rven comes close. I hate to say it, but your totally wrong on this one.
Cuz he A persuader unhonest and bias... big techs that does and shows there work calls guys like this out all the time... its a few things he said that was not honest...
I'm sir that's a personal problem with you.... stop blaming the phone cuz I can do twice as fast as you and never had that problem👀 see it's this thing that's going on with being Bias and trying to persuade the people by sneaky in the iPhone when you definitely not being honest on it either👀.... and all the tech reviews show different....
Most of the tech reviews are mentioning performance issues and lags. Inconsistent pictures and videos. Although mainly on Exynos but sure that this model was rushed out...
Well which one is it is it good or not good But then again but then again and I don’t know and then again lol One second you’re like the cameras are really good But then again it’s not Which one is it good or not good Besides that thanks for the information great review Definitely going to subscribe to You homie
S22 Ultra is a Pandemic phone were everything lags Pun Intended. With all its ability Corners were cut in everything because of supply chain issues. My next big guess is Many of the internal components were parts from other phones??? I cannot prove it literally. But enough reviews have led me down this road The most glaring is the aforementioned LAG time. Being out of sync is both a hardware and system issue. Finally it's price is a money grab for what you get.I could fly to the moon 🌙 and back for less.Being hard on it Again. It a good phone with issues and was not fully ready for prime time.If you have the money and it's not an issue Get it regardless Still to early to fully judge it.I give it a year to work the issues out.I like top the line screen quality, the ability to be clearly seen in the Sun.The ability to take impressive zoom capabilities that are usable pics.Good Video 😎
For the life of me I can't figure out why Samsung would make an 8/128 version of this phone or why anyone would choose it... my S10+ had more ram and storage, and it's a 3 yr old phone... so yes I wouldn't doubt that version of the S22U would meet the expectations of the gambit of things you're were trib by to do on it...I guess it's for people who want the latest and greatest, but not really need all the specs, guess Samsung would know there's a market for that consumer... why not just get an A series then... plus why would you get that version when Samsung was offering a free upgrade of the 12/256 version... that's your list on not being a conscious consumer...I have the 12/512 and wouldn't have settled for anything less in these technological times... got it at launch with massive deals... all I can say is it's buttery smooth and haven't had one issue... started off getting 5-6 hrs sot out of the box... but I know Samsung and how they work, and knew the adaptive battery would kick in... I'm now getting 9-11 hrs sot... the phone just simply can't be matched with all the features and functionality it's capable of... it's the best beast of a phone I've ever owned, and I've had quite a few... you just missed out on proper knowledge of consumer ability.
I own this phone and completely agree with the camera and lag. Its more prominent that you state. And the factory Google messages is extremely laggy. But for the price of this phone, their should be zero lag. My P6P is buttery smooth.
@@cantgetright888 Can't accept the truth you samsheep? I have an S21 myself and it's also laggy which is absolutely disappointing for the price and specs. Stop labeling big problems like these as lies, stupid fanboy.
Ok the s22 is DEF not the best phone for gaming. My fold 3 smokes this in gaming performance. Shit my v60 dual screen is better at gaming I bet. Esp with the dual screen and LG built on gamepad software. This is a good review though. Quality videos but I had to say my PC about gaming lol
owerall photos on s22 u suck and no app can fix it... sorry samsung but for that price photos and videos should be much , MUCH better. I am sorry i bought s22U... I am keeping it only because of video pro mode ...all else suck, BIG TIME!
@@dannybishop68 what are your iphones?.. I used both s22 ultra and 13 pro max And I don’t give a damn about apple or Samsung nor i’m a fan boy of anything But s22 ultra does freeze sometimes in home screen and it does lag if you are using google maps..and it’s not as smooth as 13 pro max.. That because iPhones are better optimized and apps are better optimized for them as well by developers..6 months with 13 pro max it hasn’t lagged even once..s22 ultra lagged multiple times in just 1 month..not much but it did..and there are some apps that are not optimized for it so some games did crash..even times without any lagging 13 pro max is still smoother.. Phone companies are not football clubs..clearly joey is the only fanboy here
@@dannybishop68 which games lagged on 13 pro max?.. Because that’s simply not possible 😃 It can happen to the ultra as not all the games are not optimized for it..so sometimes games does crash And it begins dropping frames and brightness if you play for more than 1 hr straight.. Actually it’s completely the opposite most of tech reviewers are biased to samsung..except the best tech reviewers like mkbhd for example who simply tells the truth about all companies Many other reviewers are biased to samsung because actually samsung sends phones to the reviewers..so many of them become biased in return whereas apple doesn’t send a shit
Dude, I am sure 100% You know it's a new phone, Just released consistency will appear after being there for 7 months. You can't compare an IPhone or a S21 Ultra which got many updates throw the year with a new phone. Just give it 7 or 8 months and it will be consistent. Like even the IPhone 13 wasn't consistent when It was released and it got tons of updates, now it works consistently. Please chill and think about itm
@@iAmPaulObelley Keep it up! Great job! 😊 You have a funny and cool way of making reviews. I wanted to buy this phone, but I think I'll go with the S20 Note Ultra.
Yeah Samsung ui has lag so much Im using s20 fe 5g with snapdragon 865 And it lags so much despite having a flagship chip (on part with apple a13 bionic)
@@marian8757 nice point man, but im just like you, so many apps, always updated, both the apps and the android software, by lagging i mean slowing down the animations, like in "recent apps" screen, or when i push my phone a bit hard, like downloading updates and transforming files at the same time, it will choke so hard in animations and overall smoothness of device... Im not saying that my s20 fe 5g is garbage, actually its almost perfect for 400 dollar price tag in my region, but its annoying me because i know that this problems are from software optimizations not the actual hardware and yeah, my Samsung phone feels like an "android flagship" most of the time I guess the problem for me is that i want both Samsung and iPhone but i don't have the money yet 🙃
Releasing the base s22 ultra with 8GB of ram is a downgrade from the previous S20 and S21 ultra phones, I imagine the 8GB RAM option is less optimized than the 12GB option. Samsung should have kept it at 12/16GB not 8/12GB. I imagine most issues are from the "limited" RAM. I'm getting a Snapdragon 12GB/1TB S22 ultra hopefully in the mail today, I'll post again if I notice any lag on that
curved display is new to me and I do not really notice it... Apart from that, it streamlined my business being able to shoot pics and add quick comments on the pic with the s pen. Happy so far but using it mainly professionally so movies, gaming... do not apply. And also battery keeps me through the day, so no complaint.
i do have galaxy s22 ultra 12gb ram and snapdragon version so far i had not much issues with the lag as seen in the video and plus I've opened literally all the apps on my phone at the same and still the phone worked pretty fine without much lag. but yes some apps aren't very optimised so with those apps while scrolling i did find some lag but other than that everything is fine for me. also the battery hasn't been the best or as I'd expect it to be. i am a power user tho i play a lott of games and social media. so i do need to charge my phone by evening
Mine has had no issues I'm a power user only thing I don't do is game on it . Buy a console or PC spen is super handy .and size wise cmon it's the size of a pro max I have both and the max is heavier . The only thing good about this review is ur girl .
