Venice is a city I will never forget. It was the first city That I visited in my solo trip covering Italy. I reached Venice at 6 am it was dark and cold. Started walking to find a good spot that I could sit and enjoy my sandwich with the sun rise. I found the perfect spot. Under a bridge. I walked almost all streets that I could. Got lost on my way so many times. Climbed Bridges’s walk on narrow streets. What a wonderful experience. It was not a romantic walk that I took with bf or husband, it was amazing, exciting and wonderful walk that I took with my own self. Indeed it was wonderful. The memories that I made will last for ever. ❤️♥️

If you think this looks too good to be true you'd be right. It amazes me to see Venice captured this way, without compromise. I saw scenes like these years ago when I was in architecture school. It was off season (mid-autumn) so summer's tourist crowds were gone. Everywhere I walked I thought, "This is just a dream. How can any of it be real?" // This is Venice as most people will never see it -- no long lines of tourists, no tacky souvenirs. Just incredible architecture, beautiful interiors and everywhere the golden light of La Serenissima. La più bella città nel mondo.

Why are tourists really annoying to people they are as fascinating as the sights of Venice and the gift shops add colour and vibrancy to the scene! Go to a mortuary if you want peace and quiet !!

People standing in crowds blocking your way? I do not consider that a plus. Do you? Your comment is so extreme. A mortuary? Where did you pluck that plum from?

@@rr7firefly I wouldn't say you were wrong although I have to say my abiding memory of visiting Venice in 2014 is blissful and I barely remember anyone blocking my path. Maybe for five minutes when crossing the Rialto Bridge but it wasn't a big deal. To be honest there is so much negativity about modern life and the planet these days it's so lovely to watch a beautiful video of Venice, however idealised it might be, and have it remind us of beautiful times many of us may have spent there. Why spoil it?

I must disagree my friend. Venice is a spectacular city that is unlike any other in this world. Tourism and shopsellers are only an annoyance mid day. Most tourists leave Venice in the evening. If you want to experience Venice like this then take an early walk around the city at 7 or 8am or at 7 or 8pm.

Venice was and I think the ONLY city in which i never took my phone out of my pocket to take pictures or navigate via Google Maps. I just wanted to soak in all the beauty this city had. I got lost in so many alley's but I never bothered. Heck I was about to miss my train back to Milan cuz I was so lost in Venice streets! This is the place if you really want to have a nice getaway from life. Much love from Pakistan 🇵🇰🇮🇹

venice truly owns my heart in a special way. nothing can even compare with the love i feel towards this city. hands down the most heavenly, beautiful, unique and surreal place in the universe. too me venice is more than a city. it’s beauty is simply out of this world. watching this short film left me speechless. yet another reminder of how incredible venice actually is. let’s never forget that. please try and stop this place from sinking. it might be gone sooner than expected; and already in 2100. it’s not too far away. and we don’t want another atlantis, right? let’s never forget about venice, the city of canals, i know i won’t.

Stayed in Venice last june! So beautiful there, the atmosphere was breathtaking. My two days there was full sun and saw so many things there and i miss this city so much. I'll love to go back and spend more time there!

I’m from Torino Italy and Venezia is probably my favourite city. I suggest to visit in in Autumn. When it’s cloudy and/or foggy it has a unique melancholic atmosphere. Something I never experienced in any other city in the world.

Well it is no longer sinking. They are going under each and every island in Venice, elevating to its original place and re enforcing it. They are saving it.

I hope you make it there. Venice is the most marvelous city I have ever visited. If you go, make sure you go up to the top of the Campanile and wait for the bells . . . I've spent a total of eight weeks on these islands and I plan to return in 2020. |l serenisima è sempre fresco.
