I just recently bought a drawing sketchbook but guess what medium's going to touch those thin, flimsy, regular, non-watercolor papers. I can already sense them buckling.
Ooooo flowers!!! I can't believe I've never painted a rose. Well now I know what I'm doing today, drawing wiff waffles! Waffles literally never fails to inspire me to draw or make videos!!
When I opened my phone, four of my favourite youtubers have posted a video: Drawingwiffwaffels, Kasey Golden and Lucid Neema and Chloe Rose Art. Me: “ Now I know how I can spend my next 2 hours. “
Can we just take a minute to appreciate that all the comments in the comment section are so nice and supportive to Rin and her art? It’s amazing and it’s possible because Rin is just so happy, lovable, and talented. Love you Waffles ❤️
When trying to achieve different tones with the same color in water color I would have a bigger mixing area and try to individually mix the tones with water to your desired tone so you don’t have to keep finding the tone every time you dip your brush into the color. 😋
“And that I’m still living so I can continue to keep trying to improve” Woah. That went in a direction I wasn’t expecting 😂 My favourite is the same as yours, in the sketchbook. I love the contrast of the blue and pink 😊
As soon as I saw the notification I bolted to watch it. I love your videos and you inspire m a lot. Sometimes I think about quitting art but then I watch one of your videos and it helps me a lot. So thank you
Don't quit art. If it's something you love you've got to stick with it! It only gets better. 💜 Don't let how you feel about the finished result stop you from enjoying the process.
DrawingWiffWaffles thank you so much. This is why you are my favorite channel. I love drawing and I still have plenty of time left to get better. You’re the best 😁❤️
Waffles is my favorite art RU-vidr, She always makes me smile. I was about to give up drawing but then started watching her. Now everytime I draw I have one of her RU-vid videos playing Love you waffles
Wow! That's awesome ❤️! Please do more art with watercolor. I know there are many watercolor tutorials on RU-vid but the way you plan and work on your piece, explaining thoughts behind every stroke makes me more engaged to the process. Love you ❤️
I am new to watercolors too, but I found to neat trick to help with tones. If I want 3 tones, I will put 3 different drops of the water color paste into seperate containers/sections. Then I will add 1 drop of water for a dark shade in the first one, 3-4 drops of water for a mid tone, and 6-7 drops for a light tone in the third container. Then your tones are already mixed and seperate.
Aww Waffles, this is why you're my favorite. You're not afraid to try new things, and grow as an artist. It's really inspirational, and SO fun to watch. So, MOAR FLOWERS PLS!
Wow! The roses turned out nicely! Well done, Waffles, I know it wasn't easy. Flowers are weird like that, they look simple yet they are so complicated it takes awhile to understand how they work. Currently I have been doing studies of sunflowers and omg its so hard lol, gotta keep practicing. Keep up the good work!💜🌹
I'm so glad you did something different than just another character since you do those all the time, it was great watching you do the roses and you did a great job with them. You are way more talented than I think you let yourself believe you are.
Hey Rin! I have recently discovered Shayda Campbell’s YT and learned how to draw amazing flowers super fast! I think you’ll find her videos Amazing😉 love your channel! I never miss a video! You’re my favourite RU-vid channel ❤️
I love this. It’s really beautiful! If you want some tips, I would say that watercolour is all about layers. You were trying to create value by using more or less water, which is one technique. But you can also create a light wash of colour then once that’s dried create darker values on the second layer.
That's how you know someone's a great artist, when they draw/paint something they don't have much experience drawing/painting and it turns out good anyway! Like those roses did.
I really love hearing you talk about your process. It's so encouraging and it's also informative. I'd like to think that I could be so understandable and positive if I was making the same kind of video but I'm not sure I could. Obvs you're very talented (thru vigorous practice) in your art, but I think it's just as dazzling how good you are at brightening someone's day with your voiceovers.
I've always been better at watercolor than acrylics or oils. It's really interesting seeing artists who arent used to watercolor start learning it. It can be a hard to work with, but it can be really cool and create a new level to your artwork. I love seeing you experiment with new supplies. ♡♡♡
I love your art so much. Both flowers look so lovely! When using watercolours, if a colour is darker or you used too much water, you can lift most of it with a paper towel and lighten it. The quicker you do it, the more pigment you lift. I use it a lot when I use too much or too little water.
I honestly really love your improvisational pieces, they just look really full of thought and emotion. I really have to step out of my comfort zone this summer and do more unplanned paintings and sketches for my college portfolio. I believe I think too much a lot instead of just getting into it.
Watching you practice and learn is very instructional for me and I'm horrible, but it's fun and relaxing (and no one will see the results). You are an amazing artist and your self-deprecation is unfounded according to what I've seen. Go easy on yourself!
I usually don’t watch longer videos than 10 minutes because I get bored. But whenever I see that Waffles upload a new video I just can’t stop watching it. No matter how long it is😍❤️
DrawingWiffWaffles omg! I didn’t expect you to answer😱😍 This just made my day😭❤️ And yes ofcourse I do! You always make me wanna grab my sketchbook, pencil and draw with you☺️
So excited for this, I always like drawing flowers and leaves, this will be really cute and interesting, love your videos and personality, keep up the good work!
i love seeing you learn how to paint flowers because flowers are the one thing i can do really well. with flowers, for me at least, i always start with the center of the flower and go out from there.
Great job at working with watercolors and painting roses. Loved all three of your roses, but especially liked the first sketched rose - very expressive.
I think your roses are so beautiful! With watercolor I think sometimes it just helps to play around with it and see what it does. When I first started I got a cheap set from Michaels and some cheap watercolor paper and just practiced and tried things.
I really like this because it's different compared to what I usually see you draw. I think the flower aspect is really nice too. I've recently been trying to draw more plant related things myself.
the red and blue bouquet you painted in the sketch book was my favorite thing you painted. Even if you were kind of messing around it turned out so pretty!
The roses look amazing! It's definitely very different from your usual stylized characters, and they do appear more photorealistic, but they're really beautiful.
I can't be the only one who likes the painting that Rin did in her sketchbook without the pencil sketch, the one where she went in straight with the watercolors. Looks loose and lovely and I felt her water to paint ratio on that one was the best. Also for the fading into light on the petals, Use more water Rin! You can always soak up excess. Maybe wet on wet? If that doesn't work, wait for the watercolor to dry so that it doesn't flow on its own but can be dissolved with water. Then pull the pigment out. Watercolor is quite the journey, I know! But I know you can do it. All the best!
Girl u got this! I’d say don’t be afraid to practice gradients into other colors. Remember water is your friend and for blends don’t let the paint dry so work in small sections
Your water color improvement has been crazy fast, before it felt like you were trying to force water colours to act like medias you already used and now it's like you're truly working with the media how it wants to be used and it really makes it so clean and lovely
This was fun to watch. When I do tones of one color, I lay down the lightest wash, and then work up to the darkest. I liked seeing someone do this differently. 👍😊
