I've been experimenting with removing solidified 3D print (UV Cure) resin from the Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) washing vat. I built a siltation tube out of clear 3" PVC pipe (36" holds a gallon of IPA) that allows the cured UV resin to fall to the bottom of the tube. I drain the silt from the bottom of the tube with a valve and then filter and decant the IPA.
Items I suggest to replicate my tube:, which can be purchased at any local hardware store:
3" PVC tube (36-48" long)
[I used Clear so I could see what was going on, but opaque is cheaper and more easily available. It appears that 24-48 hours is as long as you need to let it sit before draining.]
3" to 1.5" PVC adapter
1-1/2" x 1/2" Schedule 40 PVC Reducer Bushing Spigot x FPT
1/2" hose bib with 90 degree (1/4 turn) ball valve
Thread Tape (Teflon)
PVC Solvent & Cement
I'll include Amazon Affiliate links to the above items so you can see exactly what I'm talking about...but I don't recommend you buy them there, as it is usually cheaper at a local hardware store.
