Castle Clash is excellent instance of every little thing nauseating regarding freemium gaming. Sure, it may resemble an intriguing mix of social game, grindy RPG, and competitive tower defense/RTS from the outside, however a freemium video game is exactly what it is first and foremost. And do not misinterpret me, it's not the freemium itself that irritates me, but that the gameplay is entirely subservient to the pay model deliberately. Castle Clash utilizes a series of timed paywalls throughout play, as well as is woefully uneven by the worst sort of video game cracking pay-to-win techniques.
