I feed the birds here on an old trampoline and dryer left behind by the people before and put trail cameras about a foot or two from the food piles. You can get some rare incredible pictures like this.

We bought Leupold BX-4 PRO Guide HD GEN 2 10X42 binoculars, and we really like it. Thank you for your instruction on binoculars, Mark. You are awesome 👌

I found some 40 dollar 7x50 nitrogen purged fogproof/waterproof bak-4 porro prism ones recently by KOOPOOL that are surprisingly good but eye relief "focal point" for my eyes is slightly past the eyecups and the focus is very stiff. If I brace the eyecup tops on my forehead in a certain way I can tilt them up slightly and the image is good so they work. But other than that they`re nice. I saw a Cardinal male hopping around in an odd way and got the binoculars and saw that he was collecting grasshoppers to feed the babies and had a beak stuffed with them and was after even more. Ha! I got them because they`d be good for stargazing and daytime views. I have some huge Celestron 15x70s and a Celestron 70mm Travel Scope with upgraded tripod (absolutely necessary), eyepieces and 90 degree diagonal.

What was that adapter you used on your phone to take close up pictures? My phone's camera is not that great at zooming in on the birds.

@MarksBackyardBirds
@MarksBackyardBirds 2 месяца назад
Swans are much larger than snow geese. The swans very long necks is really unique

There are many members of the Jay group that are blue in color but only one species known as the Blue Jay.

The pelican has a saying its beak holds more than its belly can. I have seen a pelican swallow big animals hole. Is that statement valid?

While it is just a poem by Ogden Nash, it is likely true when you combine the fish and the water. The pelican expels the water before swallowing the fish

Mark, I have Orioles eating from my suet cakes even though I have plenty of jelly out there, is that normal behavior for Orioles?
@MarksBackyardBirds
@MarksBackyardBirds Месяц назад
Yes. The suet cakes are providing far more them.

Do birds ever show affection towards their mates?
@MarksBackyardBirds
@MarksBackyardBirds Месяц назад
Affection is a vague term. Some birds pass seeds, click bills together but I don’t know if that is considered affection.
