I always thought "Leaf Lover" referred to Tea. It's the exact opposite of alcohol, the Leaf Lover's special removes the drunk effect, and I like to think that Mission Control is a tea person.
wanna say 2 things, one, whats the build for the cryo cannon driller you used in a lot of the video, two, did you know that the gunner's minigun actually has half as many bullets as your hud tells you, but the devs wanted it to seem like it is firing faster than it actually is so every bullet = 2 bullets in the hud. this is why you never see yourself having an odd number of bullets.
Hehe, you didn't mention the 2020 pumpkinocalypse, when the 2020 halloween event first started the spawns for pumpkins were broken and they covered every flat surface of the cave. I unfortunately didn't take screenshots but this lasted for a few days so there's probably some floating around.
There actually is evidence of elves existing, one of the voice lines when de drop pod is first landig is something like: "blablabla... Are we elves, or dwarves?"
There is a DRG RU-vidr called FourLeafGaming that people have compared him to Uncle Dane (really sounds similar to each other). He makes great content 👍 and goes in depth about being adaptive / tactical in your play.
I always thought leaf lover was referring to the fact that there's no regular leafy trees underground, only rock n stone. So being a leaf lover means you prefer being above ground.
10:45 Honestly, I'd still love to see this make a return. Like, it could be a linear version of On-Site Refining - sort of what regular mining missions are to Point Extraction. Not sure how it'd work, but... I just love the pipe-building mechanic and wanna see more varied gameplay applications of it, I suppose.
Don't know if it's been mentioned in the comments but can confirm as of 05/07/22 it's still in the game, if you deposit an egg immediately (like frame perfect) after grabbing it out of a nest you can cancel the swarm, no screen shake, nothing happens. Can be used to cheese elite deep dives
0:55 i like how this makes it sound like valve made mario. also holy shit why did they cut the machine event soundtracks of U26, absolute bangers. the only reason i see for them being unused is that theyre like variations of the current one?
There's a high likelihood I may be wrong - but If i remember correctly, these tracks only played on tritilyte deposit event. They started off slow, and then picked up in pace as event progressed. I assume they were cut due to pacing issues with different machine events or some other technical problems.
lol whoops. they were likely early mockups to get a feel for what they want the machine event music to be, the one I highlighted in the video I believe is what they sort of went for in the end, definitely the most similar to Core Infuser out of the four... think I can get away with putting those up on Explorian now that I think about it.
Your self deprication in the first iceberg video was a bit heavy. I'm glad that here, you're explaining that you do indeed have a role in the development and data mining of the game, even just as an enthusiast. I understand that calling yourself a 'dipshit' was to pre-empt any scrutinizing hate-mail, but as a new viewer to your channel, I kind of just had to take it on faith that you knew what you were talking about. "You're only as legitimate as you act" and all that jazz
4:12 in a line in the lunar new year assignment, upon completing one of the missions mission control says, “How does a planet with 14 moons even have one lunar event?” So Idk if the other moons are just hidden or something
I believe if you look at the glow of the exploding plants in Dense Biozone (The one with the annoying cave system), they glow red on the ground despite being colored white
Makes sense that leaf lovers are elves but I thought they were leprechauns due to loving four leaf clovers and resembling dwarves but with pointy ears and being green
Something I think would be neat: Consistent drop pod in deep dives. Instead of the drop pod flying away, it closes it's doors after all dwarfs have vacated it and remains in the mission area. Salvage Operation objectives would now have the team spawn in the middle of the cave and have them refuel their Deep Dive drop pod. This would give deep dives a unique spin on the extraction part of missions, and would also explain deep dives a bit better thematically. I always thought it weird that the drop pod leaves the mission area, only to be redeployed at a different location.
the managment propaply used to do that, but once they lost enough pods they stopped since it was cheaper to pull the drop pods back and risk the team not being abel to leave than to leave the pod and risk losing it.
Patreon being a monthly payment thing doesn't really work without incentives, mine didn't really have any rewards and I just wanted to treat it like a tip jar in the first place, ko-fi being a single-time donation works out much better imo... idk I'll probably return to Patreon and do it right if this channel sees more success
