Explaining the Junk Rig (3): Cybele, a LeForestier jonque de plaisance 

The intention of the videos in our "Explaining the Junk Rig" series is to show individual junk rigged boats as examples of various features of the junk rig and how it is applied. In this case we show and explain a little about a LeForestier "jonque de plaisance". Dimitri LeForestier was the designer of a range of junks, many of which have been built by both professional and amateur boat builders. They aim to apply newer boat building methods to hull shapes and rigs closely inspired by the Chinese model. The boat in this case, Cybele, is the property of Yann and Florence Le Martret, and we are most grateful to them and to filmmaker/photographer Francesca Lemporté for permission to use this lovely film.
