Given that Jaden could be seen as the true master of the sacred beast & Jaden bested nightshroud & is the reincarnation of the supreme king that protects both humans & duel spirits from malevolent threats, like nightshroud himself & the Light of destruction, Nightshroud probably didn't want Jaden to've them when he started his plan.
Can we get videos comparing the Egyptian Gods, Wicked Gods & Sacred Beasts? A theory on Jaden, as the Supreme King, being the master of all of them & loaning the Egyptian Gods to Timeas, Atem & Yugi's past life during the fall of Atlantis & that's why Atem can use them?! Or The Supreme King being based on the Biblical God, using the fact that the SB are based on Biblical angels?!
Hey to 2Spooky and comment section. There's a rock instrumental song 2Spooky uses as background music in some of his videos. An example is when he's explaining Kurapika’s chain jail (hunter x hunter) and when explaining Yamamoto's bankai in his 2nd Top 10 Bankai video. I someone could tell me the name of that song, that'd be wicked awesome. Thanks everybody
I really wish that the Shadow Charms and The Sacred Beasts got more stories around them, like if they were a second attempt to recreate the god cards and millennium items. Nice video 2Spooky had a lot of good info~!!!
Impossible. Since there was a flashback of the villain discovering the sacred beasts stone tablets during one of his Egypt trips. And no it was not the Egyptian Gods the original.
Ya! Like a modern attempt to create new items after the original were lose in original series. Also maybe if the whole event took place over all four seasons instead just less than half of one.
small correction, abidos would be the descendant of priest seto, as he became pharaoh after atem left at the end of the series. he even kinda looks like seto
I feel that abidos was basically foreshadowing that Jaden would eventually meet atem for a battle Jaden got to meet yugi because of yugis soul rested with his cards
But wait a second, doesn't the Sacred Beasts, their stone plates and their cards came from a different dimension? I vaguely remember Yubel mention that, which makes sense since they had enough power to break the boundaries between dimensions. And since Jaden got his Shadow Charm from a different dimension as well, I assumed it was the same for all others, as well as for some of the Shadow Riders themselves.
Nope the sacred beasts are presumably from ancient egypt. The reason that they were in the other dimension is because the cards were buried under duel academy and got transported with it. If you look closely, you can see that the container from season 1 is laying smashed next to where Yubel and Adrian find them.
@@babysinclairfan Yes but no, I was saying before the whole Yubell thing. I remember someone mentioning they had the power to break trough dimensions all the way back to when they were first mentioned.
@@VixYW I think you may be remembering something else. Bastion mentions that the sacred beasts generate enough energy to force the dimension portal open, but that just mean they were strong. Their only officially backstory is that they've existed since "the time of antiquity". We can assume they were sealed in tablets back in egypt, since the ruins on academy island are all Egyptian. It feels like theres this whole crazy lore behind the sacred beasts and the shadow charms that the writers were aware of, but never got around to discussing in an episode. Remember, back then, all lore still tied back to Egypt. It wasn't until later that 5ds introduced Aztec lore and Zexal added cosmic forces to the mix
@@babysinclairfan You may be right about most of this, but GX started stepping away from Egypt already. I mean, there's the light of destruction and Jaden and Yubel's origin, not to mention the main villain.
@babysinclairfan Duel spirits are older then Egypt. They didn't have to come from there and gx heavily explores the idea there are whole worlds of spirits. Even exodia's prison shows up. The cards were carried over because of yubel though. Doesn't mean they aren't originally from a different universe like other spirits.
Theory: Duel Academy island was in fact part of Atlantis, explaining the spirit gate and the Egyptian like hieroglyphs if the waking the dragons series is considered canon.
My head cannon is that the grave keepers are the ones who made the shadow charms. The graves they keep could house the ones sacrificed to give the shadow charms power. Not only that, but the grave keepers chief doesn’t die when he loses the dark game to Judai, which seems to imply he has a lot of knowledge of the dark games. Also, Darkness most likely wanted the three phantasms because they were said to be able to release the darkness that dwells in peoples hearts.
Amnael, Darkness, and Camula are by far the best of the group. Kagemaru is just terrrible. Also that thing Amnael said about making Judai stronger to beat Kagemaru was some weird nonsense made up by 4kids.
Camula was great, Amnael was great, and Nightshroud/Darkness is not only cool, but relevant to the overarching plot (not just this arch specifically). I wish they did more with the Shadow Riders during season 2. The only one outside of Atticus and Amnael's ghost that shows up again is Tanya and that's just to give Bastion something to do offscreen (as well as leaving the show altogether).
Kagemaru also returns a few times in season 4 mainly at the start to discuss with Jaden and towards the end of the season. The beginning is also when we see the shadow riders in flashbacks for the last time.
Kagemaru was not just a made up thing for the sake of it he’s a genuine character that had to do with the plot he appeared in the other seasons as a teacher when Jaden began to be possessed by yubel of course it’s disappointing that he’s still an old man but it’s for the best.
Love the spooky Yu Yu Hakusho theme remix in the background hahaha Great video man, I always thought the whlle shadow charm section of the story was odd
For the creating the Sacred beasts maybe Al imar or kagimaru had their shadow charm and that let them make them ot the beasts are just more chill when it comes to being made into cards like how Jaden made the neo spacines as a kid for kabiba corp. Or the anime filler answer of how the dragons of atllatis or seal of oricachos became cards. Ancient Magic
One thing I never understood is why Kagemaru recruited Abido? Since it was stated he only won against his servants because they throw the matches out of fear of punishment for beating him and it was heavily implied that his duel with Jaden was his first legit match so why on Ra’s name did Kagemaru think someone like that could beat any of the key holders? 😬😬
if i remember correctly, Hans(the guy who steals Ra) is one of many designers working for pegasus, I could imagine kagemaru made the sacred beasts with the millennium finger ring he has working for pegasus, I think kaiba founded the school, but dude that island is duelist kingdom
@@jaernihiltheus7817 that reminds me of when you battle people in some Pokemon games who use legendary Pokemon --like the dude in emerald with three regi's -- that quick double take of "wait, how do you have those?!"
It is possible that someone else made the sacred beast. It's happened in the movie "the pyramid of light" when the evil spirit slide the pyramid of light card in pegasus's stash. He was adamant that he did not create them. Also bonds beyond time and 5ds show that time travel as well as dimensional travel is possible. So it could be that they came from another dimension or time.
Tanya, now there's a girl I can respect. She just wanted a husbundo man! I prefer to view the supposed power of the Sacred Beasts as little more than a distinction of domain. The Egyptian Gods cards rule over the spirit world and Shadow Realm, meaning their power is Divine (reference to their attribute and monster type) whereas the Sacred Beasts are given dominion over the material realm (hence why it is said they "have the power to rule the world"). This is reflected in how the Beasts, unlike the Gods, have normal attributes and types, where the Gods have their own special attribute and type just for them. The Beasts would give you the power to rule the physical world, but only that. If you wanted to rule over the spirit world and the shadow realm (Heaven and Hell) you would need the God cards.
In the pharaoh part, when he resurrected a bunch of mummies around Jaden, it makes me ask… why was there a group of corpses on a island that was used purely as a school for dueling? Also why do they wrappings…?
Ok so I only watched part of GX, but I always thought that the GX island was Pegasus's island from the original YuGiOh. Kaiba somehow gets part or all of Pegasus's business/assets and opens a school on the island. Don't remember where I heard that, but Ive thought that since it aired.
I hope sometime in the future there will be a gx movie that will be similar to dark side of dimensions were we get to see all the characters again and I hope it explains the sacred beast/shadow charms .
@@AxisChurchDevotee Yugi-Tubers & unboxing channels did justice to it and in general SB's are some of the more fan favorite archetypes and they surely sold well since the fans themselves voted the archetype, personally I'd like to see Amnael's Alchemy archetype coming to the TCG with some buffs.
You know they could have eaisly said that when the god cards left the mortal world after the end of the original series it could have went like; "After the essence(monster spirits) of the god cards left the mortal worlds, their cards were left behind as mere husks of their former glory, now devoid of almost all spirit energy they hungered for life and domination." that would explain why they look so similar only more edgy/malnoruished and explain why summoning them causes for them to drain/siphon other monster spirits around the globe. Plus it would go well with the ending of the original series like, even though their era was over, the scars and relics they have left behind still impacted the GX world creating as a bridge between gx and original series and giving more meaning to any future "cross overs"
I hope sometime in the future there will be a gx movie that will be similar to dark side of dimensions were we get to see all 9th the characters again and I hope it explains the sacred beast/shadow charms .
That wouldn't make sense because Pegasus didn't give power to any cards. He made the God Cards physical cards but the power was there long before him and just inhabited the cards. The Sacred Beasts still would have come from somewhere.
@@KingNexusMOCs I don't know I was tripping yesterday, well from my faint memory what I think I was thinking was look at how they look similar, but the sacred beast have more flesh while the God cards have what looks like armor, honestly I don't know what I was thinking but yeah
@@nahte123456 anyways above, but I think I know what they could be, maybe their fragments of Zorks which are trying to demonize the God cards? Honestly I don't know and hell probably won't ever be explained which is sad as they look so much like the God cards yet shitty I feel like GX made them just as cash outs.
@@NicholasJScott my videos always do just whatever the gods left when they disappeared that's why they need to feed on duelist energy their whole being there hungry but yeah who knows
I think the idea behind the shadow charms and sacret beasts/shadow riders had lot of potential but as in most cases, the final product does not life up to the full potential the idea clearly had. The idea of shadow charms and sacret beast/shadow riders is still very interesting and as I consider myself as an author....,
I have long a theory about the lore!My theory is The Sacred Beasts are the rivals of the Egyptian Gods and the gods of the shadow realm and son of Zorch(yes son not sons I get to that)! Zorch once was free and cause destrucion long before Egyptian times! But a powerful alchemist rised against him and awekened Horakthy.Horakthy was too powerful for Zorch so he escaped to the Shadow realm for a thousand year! The alchemist had a son (Horakty's power kept him alive)that said to have the power that created the life of universe the Gentle Darkness and his sons name was the Supreme King Judai! Zorch after he healed and made a plan went back to our dimension and shamefully teamed up with the Light of Destrucion the other element created from the Dragon creating the universe(Numeron Dragon).Zorch combined his power with the Light of Destrucion to create an off spring for Zorch(much powerful than him) Artimityle the Chaos Phantom.Armityle and Horakty fought ending in a draw.Horakty in a last attempt to help split her own body and Armityle, from the shadows created the Millenium Book and sealed away Zorch, the shadow realm and all Duel Monster in it and sealed the Sacred beasts and her seperate forms(Egyptian Gods) into Egyptian Tablets. They Lost the battle against the Light but Supreme King Jaden manage to injure the Light, get it off from Earth and he using the Noble Darkness started his reincarnation(also he turned his best friend/lover into a two-gendered Duel Monster to became his and his reincarnation's guardian and the ultimate support)The Millenium event happened,DM happened where Atem recovered Horakty. She defeated and erased Zorch but breaking the part of the seal on the Sacred Beasts.Thief King Bakura inherited the power of Zorch, possesed and corrupted Diva turning him to Dark Diva absorbing/corrupting the 8th Millenium item the Dimension Cube(Millenium Cube is its true name) warping Earth with the Shadow realm creating the Dark World, defeated all duelist in the Earth including Kaiba and Yugi ,Atem sensed this from the afterlife(after the Millenium Puzzle was rebuilded) using the last power of the Millenium Puzzle he returned, draw his true ace Oracle Palladium Mahad with him Atem overpowered Dark Diva's ace, droping his life points to zero, defeating him in a duel thus erasing the evil inside the Millenium ring and destroying the Millenium Items but this awakened the Sacred Beasts in the past! The Pharaoh Abidull the 2nd withnessed the Sacred Beasts and their destrucion.Abidull the 2nd then to stop the Sacred Beasts performed the shadow alchemy but it failed. So Abidull travelled around the world to gain knowledge and to find a new method by combining the alchemy from other cultures creating the Dark Alchemy which he performed and created the Shadow Charms(Dark Items in the sub) powerful accessories that can harness the powers of the Sacred Beasts and control them or seal them, also had their unique abilities and force a duel into a shadow game! Then Abidull the second along with his most loyal servants used the Shadow Charms and created the Spirit Gate and sealead away the Sacred Beasts.Created the 7 Spirit Key and fake myth about how to open the gate was created to hide the true way to open the Spirit Gate! The Pharoh hid the Shadow Charms around the world in ancient chambers,to the Gravekeeper clan(he turned his army and his most loyal servants to duel monsters and created a new dimension only for the Gravekeepers called Necrovalley)and to his son Abidull the 3rd! Kagemaru found the ring in a black market (it was found by grave robbers)and the Shadow Ring activated and revealed its secrets to Kagemaru.Young Kagemaru started pursuing a the quest to find the 7 other Shadow Charms and find seven follower which he will gave the Shadow Charms to each member becoming a group know as the Shadow Riders(Seven Stars in the sub) to awaken the Sacred Beast to harness their power and reach their own personal goals!
Or this is the yugioh universe where apprantly kaiba is immune to magic and yugi apparently can send Jaden to other dimensions all makes sense when the plot wants so
Man says an Alchemist when the Pharaoh was nothing of the sort. You're smoking some pretty trippy stuff bro. Also no offence but this isn't a very good theory and actually seems like you ripped part of it off from events in egypt that already happened in yugioh.
U did mention something about the tome that Amniel had and said Millennium Spell Book. There was a spellbook in the original yugioh that was deciphered to create the millennium items. Maybe related to the creation of the charms?
Very good your content about Yugioh !! the best I found! now it makes sense. I find it very interesting that they painted pictures of Egypt in the form of letters and managed to awaken the souls of monsters. Make a video talking about the story of the monster Exodia. Thank you! i give my like!
amnail: hey pegasus these dudes are stronger than the egyptian gods pegasus: you mean the egyptian gods that literally almost killed me Amnail: yeah and they're tied to a set of seven golden objects with eyes on them pegasus: *war flashbacks*
I don't see why Banner couldn't have made the Sacred Beast Cards. It's not like anyone was checking if they were legitimate or asking Pegasus if they were legal, they were cards that made monsters when put into the duel disk which is all the characters needed.
2Spooky glad your back. As for the shadow charms the history should’ve been expanded properly so to speak and I kinda think the reasons that banner gave both had a bit of truth
I do realize that camula is only just a fictional cartoon character but dang it I've always had a thing for certain vampire chicks, that aside I do feel that they could've done more with the stories of both the sacred beasts and the shadow charms, we definitely got cheated out of so much backstory with them
I remember watching GX back in the day and I couldn't get into it. I never bother with the other incarnations of Yugioh. Duel Monsters or nothing for me lol.
Cards do just come into existence, it's not all Pegasus. He just open the box(that was shut years ago for good reason), and especially made the god cards(the eye protected him) who, very clearly, did not want to be created. So with the lore we have from other series (especially 5ds as it's canon to gx and duel monsters) do show the beasts may have just appeared once people started dueling again. Season 4 of gx even backs zexel in saying the whole universe is from a single card... the lore is weird. Lol
Well there's my theory, back in the original ygo anime there was a character who hacked the industrial illusions files on every card, and made his own effects on a field spell. Its not out of the realm of possibility that the sacred beasts were created by an outside third party and programmed into the files, but also the creation of the rainbow dragon card, they pulled a duel monster from the monster's world and placed it into the card. Which could also be another way they came to be.
Hanging out with the crew in the school yard. Finding trouble never make it too hard. Back at class they never thought us this. We'll find a way to win this
Funny that the Sacred Beasts are mentioned since Kagemaru needed the soul of the Supreme King(even though not stated directly) which is Jaden to control them which brings the question on who is the Supreme King and what world did he reside in, also were the Sacred Beasts to him like what the Egyptain Gods were to Atem So many questions like for instance since the Duel Monsters spirit world knew of his existence before he awoke does that mean the Spirit World used to be one with Jaden residing in it in his past life as king with Yubel? If so how did they split into the 12 Dimensions, did the battle between the Supreme King and the Light of Destruction split them, how did the Sacred Beasts end up in the human world! My God can someone expand the lore of the King and Beasts Also begs the question how could the Sacred Beasts absorb the energy of Duel Monsters? Was it to signify that the Supreme King rules all duel monsters and since Armityle is considered the dark parallel to Horakthy it would makes sense given that the Supreme King Hao as the dark parallel to Pharaoh Atem
Kagemaru omehow optained them all? but didn't actually do anything with the pedent and the Mummy guy's, as you mention. Nightshroud got his before joining as a rider, and the Abidos guy had his from before release in the tomb. Meaning Kagemaru really can't be involved with those two at all. Or well, I suppose he could've found the tomb of the guy and placed the charm on him... which somehow physically summoned him from the afterlife... yeah, the writers really didn't think this part through with any of this. The later parts with Nightshroud only make it more confusing. Also funny thing about the Beasts vs God cards. The Gods are protected from effects, with Ra even being protected from the other two. While the Beasts are very much weak to normal monster effects while in a duel environment. So in spite of their odd... like world conquering powers outside of a duel. The Gods should still stomp them right? As they should be immune from the Beasts effects by their virtue of being gods? Its about the only thing I can think of. Really wish the arc called Rise of the Sacred Beasts had gone into their backstory and placement in the world. Maybe they were creatures created by a rival kingdowm in Africa to fight off the E-God Monsters, but ended failing, but due to their other effects the Epyptians made sure to hide them away from the world?
I'm not as familiar with the lore on the entire series but I will say maybe the fake millennium items or knockoffs had the ability to protect the user long enough for them to make the cards. or another possibility is the beasts were created by people who had enough strength to make the initial forms of the god cards but failed to get the final forms done. basically like creating an aspect of the gods but not the full form.
I always thought a better way to explain the shadow riders and the sacred beasts is that they were a cult that tried to return the power of the egyptian gods by attempting to recreate the shadow games but ultimately failed because they didn't possess a powerful enough soul, and the reason Jaden was sufficient for reawakening the sacred beasts was because he had the soul of the Supreme king. Ultimately I would love to see an expansion on the Supreme king lore is what it comes down to, but I agree that it was an underdeveloped concept that could have come full circle much better.
Actually they did state that the Egyptian God Cards along with the Millennium Puzzle which gives enough power to summon them using the power of the Pharaoh (as cards because only Atem could summon their actual spirits) would give the person enough power to rule the world. That’s exalts why Marik wanted theming the puzzle.
My headcannon is that the Egiptian Gods were refered as The Illusionary Beasts, gods that could only be summoned from their tablets from the pharohs lineage In the YuGiOH R manga the pupils of Pegasus used the negative versions of the EGs cards. I believe that after the end of the Duel Monsters, the dark powers were "erradicated" being possible to creat the Sacred Beasts cards, but with the Light of Destruction they corrupt this "peace" making them big bad.... I dont remember if Kagemaru knew that but Sartorius was there also, so.....
honestly as a kid i was always a bit disappointed that the lore didn't continue over from series to series much. just barely some returning characters.
In the Dub, one of the episodes Jaden says “wherever we are we aren’t in Kansas” meaning that in the Dub Duel academy is in Kansas (key point I have not watched Gx in many years so I could of heard it wrong when he said “Kansas” but I’m definitely sure Jaden said this, if u are trying to find this episodes it is in one of the episode where duel academy is transferred to a desert waste land (90% sure)
132nd direct attack on the like button!!!!! Love your videos, bro!!!!! Where the f**k were you?!!!!! Did you get sucked into the shadow realm?!!!!! Lol.
Kaiba made the sacred beast cards to match the strength of the Egyptian gods but he couldn’t control them so he locked them away at the Academy so he could cover it up
