Havens consulting team - Nice one.. could you pls share how to write some where clause kind of in partition and create smaller one and larger(historical - no refresh daily)? Any reference link to get sample code pls

Hi, Can you Automate the xmla endpoint refresh to run every 5 or 10 minutes in SSMS rather than manually

First you have to create a linked server to SSAS (from SQL MS)but I think this is not possible with the new Power BI service.

I am always getting error says: The connection string is not valid. I am pretty sure I have got the correct url and did as in the demo. What could be the issue?

Is the XMLA endpoint enabled in the global admin settings for your tentant?

@@HavensConsulting Yes, it is enabled read/write. I can connect it from SSMS and can do manual refresh of each tables/partitions though.

@@krishnakoirala2088 thanks for the clarification. Without looking at the query string, global admin settings, etc. it's really hard to determine what could be the issue. Hey, I’m having bad request (400) when I try to connect to my dataset on PBI service using XMLA, I tried all tools and its the same (Tabular editir, SSMS, Alm toolkit, Dax studio) it is working for others but not me, any idea whats the reason behind it?

Thanks for the question. It is in a premium or premium capacity workspace and XMLA is enabled from your admin Power BI tenant settings?

@@HavensConsulting It's Premium, It should be turned on because my colleague can access it (I Can't see the tenant setting on this matter because I'm not an Admin, I already asked them to check) may this be an issue where I'm not listed under a group who can access it through XMLA?

Great session. Thank you guys! qq: can your impact active processes (stop user query, stop data refresh) running on Premium Capacity. Scenario: mu premium capacity overloaded and I want to kill some specific active workloads.

I don't believe you're able to kill specific processes once they've started (e.g. data refreshes). Though I'd consider sending Just a message directly on LinkedIn and asking him there as well :)

Thanks for commenting. Would you mind elaborate on specifically what you don’t understand? Just does a thorough job of walking through both what the XMLA endpoint is, and multiple use cases for how to use it
