It's not an elemental advantage, they are eachother's natural counters. This aint pokemon. Akainu has an elemental advantage over Ace because his heat just gets absorbed by Akainu's magma. With Kuzan though it's a matter of temperature. Kuzan and Akainu are equal in terms of how well they can manipulate the temperature around them to the point where punk hazard is permenantly half cold and half hot after their fight. With that in mind their devil fruits wouldn't have had much impact on the fight itself as they would both be raising or lowering the temperatures of eachothers attacks.
I think the main reason the Vice Admirals arw so all over the place is because if the 3 Admiral limit the Marines have in place, so no matter how strong you are you get stuck at Vice as long as those 3 seats are full, so it's kinda like how the Warlords have their bounties frozen no matter what they accomplish from that point forward they still don't really go anywhere
I find it odd about Aramaki or Ryokugyu as he was stated to be conscripted by the World Military Draft alongside Issho or Fujitora as two new Admirals, yet he was revealed to be a huge fan of Akainu and World Nobles all along. He should have just joined the Marines eagerly from the start.
He probably didn't join at the time, because he didn't like the way Sengoku ran things. When Akainu became fleet Admiral, he knew things/marines would be "better"
I also think Shanks has just become too powerful, I don't think anyone taking him out. And when he does get taken down, I think it can lead to power creep, which I do not like ofc.
Admirals are still strong but they are beneath the gorosie, but as far as God Knight's, I feel like they will go up and down in strength just like vice admirals (besides garp)
Kuzan was unable to land a hit before Garp was stabbed. It wasn't just "evenly matched with him holding back", he was consistently overpowered himself. The holding back is purely imagined anyway, he did hold back in the very end (at the point when Oda decided for myriad plot reasons - or impatience - Garp sacrifices himself), but there is no indication he could have overpowered Garp before or wasn't fighting seriously, when indeed Garp was more powerful. Kuzan also seriously wanted to hold Garp back, but didn't seriously want to kill him, that's the difference.
The White Star gun is also much stronger version of what Kaido and Lucci took and both of were Mythical and Zoan users, makes sense why Kizaru was on the floor.
Kaido took FAR more total damage up to the point of getting punched through the head and idk how white star gun being much stronger if at all. Go back and look there was Haki lightning and his hand was shaded black when retracted even though it wasn’t when it went through him really weird
I'm not arguing against Kaidou's total dmg in Onigashima. I'm just saying the White Star Gun that Kizaru took was stronger version of what Kaido and Lucci took, that's all. Luffy was litteraly building momentum by spinning before he shocked Kizaru in the face and his attack also had lighting and fire where the version Kaido and Lucci took lacked.

The fire thing might be legitimate hard to say until it’s colored/animated but even with that saying it’s significantly stronger is a stretch. Kol is still capping with the kizaru and luffy thing. Why are you still mentioning luffy went through the dome twice, that damage was literally nothing to luffy, why? Because bonney and kaku survived through the dome. If the dome is all that and did a significant amount of damage to luffy, then you're say kaku and bonney durability is relative to luffy gear 4 and 5. Also are we really gonna ignore that the done is based off of kizaru's fruit too? There is a conflict between feats and narration since introduction of acoc. Oda doesn’t know how to handle this power since he doesn’t want to give it to admirals. So the result is brainless nerfing via amnesia of acoc

Does this mean Lucci can evenly clash with Kaido? Luffy vs. Kizaru. Almost no acoc. Why? Why use gear 5 with limited time and not acoc which has no limits? Garp vs. Aokiji. Garp hits empty buildings with Galaxy Impact, but doesn’t use it once against Kuzan. Why? Are buildings more durable than Kuzan?
I got admirals being high diffed by the yonko generally. I then got the exceptions as Aokiji and Akainu who can actually beat certain yonko. Putting Mihawk below the yonko is just ridiculous though. Also saying that half the yonko haven't reached yonko level just means that yonko level itself needs a look at.
I dont see how the average admiral vs average yonko is a high diff. We've litterally seen oldbeard and Luffy (the weakest yonko's outside of buggy ofc) make admirals look like fodder in 1 or two hits while in extreme disadvantage (oldbeard was stabbed, sick, couldnt use acoc and ofc the heartattack MID battle and Luffy had to protect VP from every attack and also already used gear 5 against lucci which could have its drawbacks) Meanwhile Shanks litterally paralyzed an admiral from 9000 miles away... nothing about that says high diff.

Come off it man. Garp was fighting one guy at a time and wasn’t even dealing with the full amount of BB pirates on the island. San Wan wasn’t in the battle, Pazzaro wasn’t fighting, and Shiryu wasn’t fighting till he went after Koby, that happened deep into the fight. He was stabbed because he was too weak or able to block Shiryu’s blow with haki. He was defeated because he was always gonna be. He had the chance to let loose when the island was clear and instead got instata beat. Kuzan was holding back big time.
nah fam, he was literally continuosly speedblitzing aokiji and clashing with him, wan wolf was out of the fight thankt to garp that has already beat him and low diff his ass into the ocean, he has got stabbed by shiryu only to protect koby and than has put him down for a lot of time, he was continuosly fighting with all the fodder pirates and at the same time beating the drunk guy(i don't remember his name), you can say aokiji was holding emotionally back but garp was still fighting the whole island, in a 1v1 against aokiji he would have at least bring him to an extreme fight

That being said to down grade the fact he had Koby, Helmeppo and Gruce on the island with him is curious considering they were weeding out the fodder. Even using Fodder as an excuse is nasty work, dude not a conqueror? Every single thing Garp wanted to do happened because Kuzan allows it to happen. He allowed Garp to have a final hoozah and then put him to bed.🥶 It was a mid to high diff and that’s selling Garp heavy.

The issue with the way the admiral scaling imo is that for me it breaks a lot of the “power balance” that was supposed to exist between the navy and pirates.
I feel like egghead has made marineford invalid as an argument for commanders being capable of giving admirals a hard fight given how causally kizaru handled gear 4 luffy. I don't see any commander giving gear 4 luffy even a high diff fight at this point.
In my headcanon i like using what Naruto had with the "special Jonin". These were Ninjas with only certain aspects of their skills being Jonin level and the rest being below that standard. So Kidd or Law, I could conceive them being "Special" Admiral level. Just like the Admirals I definitely think they can one shot 2nd commanders and below if the commanders have their guards down/are caught off-guard. However i can't say that they are well rounded enough in their stats to completely equal any of the admiral we know of in a fight. If they are admiral level they are the lowest possible tier of Admiral level currently. Zoro is high tier 1st commander level, the type that borders Emperor level. Sanji is a solid 1st commander with the possibility/potential of actually being even higher. Jinbei, so far, out of water, is a solid high tier 2nd commander potentially going on 1st. Luffy's main crew is so solid right now. Edit: This is random, but thinking if how Kidd got one shot, we've seen WB do that to Akainu sort of. Granted he got back up, but still, maybe we hated on Kidd a bit too much. Shanks simply did what we know Emperors have the capability of doing, one-shotting Admiral level characters who are off guard, at least temporarily putting them down. Edit2: The Vice-Admirals remind me a lot of Jonin in Naruto as well. Their power levels are all ove the place. You have Jonin who are fodder vs Jonin who are potential Akatsuki/Kage candidates. I hope Oda showcases some crazy strong sub-Admiral level Vice-Admiral's in the future. Some pink rabbit, or brown pig level VA's
People forget just how terrifying Akainu power is... he can literally arrive at an Island, use the awakening (which he 100% has) and kill everyone there by turning the ground into lava...
And kuzan could freeze them all, luffy could bajrang gun them, blackbeard could make a tsunami or a crazy earthquake and level it, doffy close a birdcage on it, that goes for alot of people tbh not that special

We’re not gonna sit here and act like Sabo, without a few good men mind you, wasn’t bobbing and weaving WHILE CARRYING COBRA and without Cobra he was able to completely give them the slip. All SIX of them. We can say Sabo’s altercation with Fujitora is complicated because Fujitora didn’t fully have his heart in the fight and Sabo was intentionally trying to stall and not to evade like he was with the gorosei. Even still, if Sabo was around an admiral level back in dressrosa I’d argue that would set up perfectly time wise by the end of the series to be strong enough to get his lick back for Ace against Akainu so that Luffy can focus on the real threat, Blackbeard. Just a thought
This is super close to what I'd expect. my opinion is that kizaru is one of the stronger of the 3 admirals but he's too lazy to show 100%. Garp I think is over all 3 but he's getting on the older worn outside so he can't pull those moves off all day anymore. other than that, I agree captain midd has some feats now he just has had bad matchups going against shanks was never going to go in his favor same for law vs Blackbeard never going to go his way. really hoping we see something awesome from the 5 elder stars of what's the point in them being near the top.
Admiral level is the lower limit of yonko level. Suppressed gear 5th with armament and gigantified physical attacks is admiral level and advanced conqueror haki buffed gear 5th is fleet admiral level and mastered gear 5th with zero-limiters will be true yonko level, somewhere where Shanks, Roger, Kaido and Whitebeard was. This will not be enough to defeat IMU, something comes next that will be unique to Luffy. Kaido was true yonko level but after being worn down , Luffy going close to where a fleet admiral is was able to defeat an take down a heavily wekaned Kaido.
