Is this functionality uniform across all skills that list it as X%*Y, Z max hits? For example, Staff attacks' first three swings - It lists 1259x1, max 3 hits. This is a separate situation from Lightning spear since we cannot interrupt the distribution of the hits. Lightning spear just goes - Staff attack we can choose to do only one of the three hits, at least I assume. Furthermore, is there any case wherein the skill can hit more times than it lists its max hits? I'm asking this mostly for the sake of argument wherein me and someone else are finding conflicting results to this.
No it is not. Two examples for wizzy - staff attack as you pointed out, and blizzard which can also be interrupted. Many skills with just x%*y can also be interrupted mid-use such that they do not register all their hits. For the staff attack, the description refers to the entire sequence of hits. This is also like how some abilities will have first and second hit, or first and finishing hit damage. These are two distinct things that seem to just denote different "stages" of the skill
i.imgur.com/n41YpkF.png . My crystals would be different if the only purpose of this build were PvE. If so, I would use adamantine in shoe, viper in glove
@@gameguru888 Nope, it is different. The evasion/ap tradeoff is similar to centaur belt, so it makes little sense to me to use a slight evasion AP hybrid belt in my main offensive build. If I want defense, I'll use my pure evasion belt instead. Like any item it has its place, and it could work for highly specific gear builds .. but I prefer to have multiple sidegrades/swaps instead of trying to build my hybrid set into my AP one.
@@bigandshiny I see....do you prefer the evasion hybrid build in PVE? would you grind pretty much any spot with it? I love my Wiz and would like to make him tanky in PVE mostly, so no grinding spot is scary. But also would like to have a set of gear for nasty PKers to make them mad...kindda like your Fat Wizzy build
