Ranked list of units that's good at farming exploration maps. While there are definitely units I have omitted (Itsumade, Kuro Doji, Puppeteer, Kuro, possibly more,) this is just my preferred list and you should play around and find out what works for you.
Timestamps for all you inpatient Onmyojis :)

Shadow units tier list: 1:00
Seductress units tier list: 1:20
Showcases of Shadow units: 3:38
Showcases of Seductress units: 9:12
What I use and how I farm: 15:15
Also if you are just starting out aim for a nice set of seductress first then work your way up to more G6 units and stronger soul sets. If you are news I highly suggest you check out the showcases to get a feel of the units you might want to invest in, showcase starts at 3:38.

I do think 1 turn kill is the goal in farming exp. Tamamo now is the best for that but have to skill up skill 3 (that is hard for starter), The Sp one is hard to get. For someone who just start the game, when you get the full shadow set from your mentor . Give a try to Kuro (its free and good at farm).

Kuro is indeed awesome for beginners. Thank you for bringing him up. I was gonna include him in the list but I decided not to bc he will eventually fail to 1 shot enemy mobs fairly quickly unless you have really decent shadow souls. At which point you would have to use him as fodder, keep using him at low chapter level as a farmer, or use either the G5 OR G6 exchange tick to transfer his grade to someone else. But to be fair he's perfectly fine at farming as long as he can one shot your enemy
