Rise and shine! It's time to get moving! We're starting our day with a burst of energy, heading out early for our road trip from Sweden to Denmark.
📍 Stop 1: OkQ8 Highway, Linköping
🕘 8:55 AM: Fuel ⛽ and Refreshment Break for 20 minutes
📍 Stop 2: Brahehus Castle, outside of Gränna in Jönköping County
🕚 10:00 AM: Explore Brahehus Castle 🏰
Our next stop takes us to the majestic Brahehus Castle, perched high above the beautiful shores of Lake Vättern.
📍 Stop 3: Asian Express - Chop Chop
🕛 12:45 PM: Lunch 🥗 at Asian Express Chop Chop, Värnamo
📍 Stop 4: Enroute to Malmö
🕑 2:15 PM: Scenic 🌲 🌊Drive Through Southern Sweden
With satisfied appetites, we hit the road again, treating ourselves to a scenic drive through the picturesque landscapes of southern Sweden.
🕓 3:45 PM: Arrival in Malmö
*As the sun shines brightly, due to daylight savings, we arrive in Malmö, eager to explore a few must-visit spots.
📍 Location 1: Turning Torso, Malmö
🕟 4:00 PM: Reached Turning Torso 🏙️
Our first destination, the iconic Turning Torso, a twisting skyscraper that dominates the city skyline.
📍 Location 2: Malmöhus Castle
🕟 4:40 PM: Reached at Malmöhus castle 🏰 - (We arrived almost at closing time, so remember to check the opening hours before heading out!)
📍 Location 3: Emporia Shopping Center
🕟 5:30 PM: Reached at shopping mall 🛍️ 🏷️
Step into Emporia's stylish halls, where fashion, dining, and entertainment await. Discover why this spot is a must-visit destination in Malmö.
📍 Location 4: Luftkastellet Viewpoint
🕒 6:30 PM: Reached at Viewpoint 🌅 - which is so magical to see sunset✨😍
Take a moment to soak in the breathtaking views, marveling at the engineering feat that connects Sweden and Denmark across the Öresund Strait.
🕒 7:25 PM: On Öresund Bridge 🌉
We wave goodbye to Sweden and get ready to enter Denmark, amazed by the incredible bridge that stretches across the water.
🕔 7:40 PM: Arrival in Copenhagen 🇩🇰
As we arrive in Copenhagen, we're welcomed by the city's lively vibe and fascinating history. Get ready to discover its famous sights, busy streets, and delicious food.
🕔 8:40 PM: Reached Airbnb accommodation 🇩🇰
Got home, had some delicious mutton biriyani for dinner, and then enjoyed a really good night's sleep.
First day in Copenhagen 🇩🇰
📍 Day 1: Copenhagen Exploration
🕢 10:00 AM: Good Morning & Welcome to Copenhagen! 🇩🇰
We hopped on some local trains near our accommodation and made our way to the city center.
📍 Location 1: Christiansborg Palace
🕘 11.10 AM: Explore Christiansborg Palace 🏛️
We kick off our day with a visit to Christiansborg Palace, the seat of the Danish Parliament, Prime Minister's Office, and Supreme Court.
📍 Location 2: Amalienborg Palace
🕑 12:00 PM: Royal Elegance at Palace 🏛️
Next up, went to Amalienborg Palace, where the Danish royal family lives. We watched the famous changing of the guard 💂 ceremony and wander through the palace square, surrounded by elegant buildings.
📍 Location 3: Frederik's Church
🕓 12:30 PM: Admire Frederik's Church ⛪
Our next stop takes us to Frederik's Church, also known as the Marble Church, where we're captivated by its neoclassical architecture and serene ambiance. Also, very near to Amalienborg Palace
📍 Location 4: Frederik's Church
🕓 1:00 PM: Discover St. Alban's Oasis ⛪
Our next destination is St. Alban's Church. Discover the green garden and enjoy a peaceful moment surrounded by nature's beauty.
📍 Location 5: The Little Mermaid Statue
🕚 1:30 AM: Meet the Little Mermaid 🗿
Next, we visit Copenhagen's famous Little Mermaid statue, capturing photos and enjoying the seaside charm of this iconic monument.
