Sometimes, our travel schedule only allows us to spend a day or two at a location when we wish we could spend much more time there. Davis Mountains State Park in Fort Davis, Texas, was one of those locations. From the beautiful mountains to the history to the local attractions to the dark skies -- it was all awesome, and we wanted more time to explore!

Great video! I’m glad you enjoyed your stay! You are right, there are many more things to do in the area. You could easily spend a week at Davis Mountains and have plenty to do each day. Safe travels!

Thanks for this video! The dark sky and observatory stuff sounds fascinating. It's a shame you weren't able to shoot any footage in the observatory during the star party. That would be cool to check out.

It was a big part of our visit and we are so glad we discovered the star party was happening. If you get a chance, it's a beautiful area to visit.

Enjoyed the video. We where going to try and stay here when we visited last year. Unfortunately we couldn’t get a spot. Looks like we missed a great park. Will have to make sure we visit if we’re in the area again.

The star party is good and it’s wonderful that you are not permitted to do videos. I really enjoyed it too, and the free camping just west of the observatory complex. Book your tickets in advance.
