Haha yeah many of these 'constants' aren't constant, like the boiling point etc. I guess Geoff is imperfect like the rest of us, but he still has a whole lot of very useful knowledge to share!
So all the times I levelled the footings on a house using water as my level, it was wrong? It was perfectly level. I guess that curve is really mostly applicable to very large areas, and not to a backyard garden, or the normal uses we have.
@@diannerobinson7858 No, your levelling is correct. Being level and being flat are not the same thing. Level refers to 2 separate points being equal distance from the centre of a gravitational field. Flatness refers to the amount of undulation or curvature of a surface. Except where surface tension forces apply All bodies of water on the earth have a curve that matches the curvature of the earth.
Why bother with 1 minute or less videos? I for one love your message, but don’t even bother with them. I think if that’s all you can do, why should I bother? I’d rather less content but something of substance. Just a thought…
Short form videos are very popular right now and it’s become a great way to bring in more viewers for a channel as a whole. They clearly have long form videos on their channel so not sure what you mean by “if that’s all you can do”. I mean seriously, why are you even watching short form content if you don’t like it? You’re also just driving up engagement for a video you don’t even seem to like by commenting. Just a thought…

Rewatching Geoff's channel's content had been very fruitful as there is lots of dense and numerous information we tend to miss or forget plus you can make new connection after re assembling your thoughts in relation to whole system design( and your own life)

@@RobertTozzi I think his argument rests on the statement that "level" is a, mostly, relative statement with regards to the center of the earth. While "flat" is an infinite plane that stretches beyond the border of the universe. For example, if you take a perfectly flat plane and drop it on a point on earth about roughly ~2.2 miles away from that point there will be a 1 inch difference between the perfectly level water and this theoretical flat plane. This is why I consider it pedantic, when folks start incorporating infinities into their birdbath calculations, they're losing the plot.
