ATLANTIC WALL * SEAL TOUR * WILDLIFE * WORLD HERITAGE
In the Netherlands, 4 May commemorates the fallen of World War II and 5 May is Liberation Day. As part of this, we visited the Wn 12H bunker museum on Vlieland, which is part of the Atlantic Wall. A good time to remember those who fought for our freedom; we both find freedom, in all its forms, most important.
Folkert joins a seal tour and cannot stop photographing.
Since 16 March, we, together with several other islanders, can officially call ourselves ambassadors of Wadden Sea World Heritage.
A walk across the island provided peace but also a lot of tickling; where one of us loves it and would prefer to have these animals in our home, the other one has shivers running down her spine while editing.

In Nederland wordt op 4 mei de gevallenen van de Tweede Wereldoorlog herdacht en op 5 mei is het Bevrijdingsdag. In het kader daarvan hebben wij het Bunkermuseum Wn 12H op Vlieland bezocht, welke onderdeel is van de Atlantic Wall. Een goed moment om stil te staan bij die mensen die voor onze vrijheid hebben gevochten; wij allebei vinden vrijheid, in alle vormen, het meest belangrijk.
Folkert gaat mee met een zeehondentocht en kan niet stoppen met fotograferen.
Sinds 16 maart mogen wij ons, samen met een aantal andere eilanders, officieel ambassadeurs van Waddenzee Werelderfgoed noemen.
Een wandeling over het eiland leverde rust maar ook een hoop gekriebel op; waar de ene van ons het prachtig vindt en het liefst deze dieren in ons huis zouden hebben, heeft de ander de rillingen over de rug lopen tijdens het editten.
