Great Big Story I Loooooove the content, I honestly think it is changing me as a human being to be better to others and respect the environment and I have been much happier since i stumbled upon this channel. You always amaze me with the things and the people you find and very frequently post that I cant even hardly keep up!
This video sparked and interest for us in the underground cities, and was part of the inspiration for us heading over to Turkey for our most recent travel adventure!
I need like an 2 hour documentary about it filmed like this now Also I've just noticed how this channel finally blooms by the amount of comments and almost the 1 mill subs. Totally deserved it, still recall when we're just a few thousands in here.
Thats sad to look what people say "turkey beautiful" but this all dont have conection with turkey only with greeks armenians and assyrians. This underground towns are culture of capadocian greeks.
The ironic thing is, since these tunnels were 1000 years old, they probably protected the community from Turkic raiders when they first arrived in Anatolia.
bz those people watch cnn and fox tv that is why brain wash people, uneducation people, they dont have eny idea turkey and another country, they dont read they just watch tv and never search, they just belevie whatever they want, retarded people
I've been there before. It was cool as hell. The guide told us that they had enormous vats of wine stored should they run out of water. Seems like the opposite of a problem to me...
FatDolan - it makes me sad because turkey is beautiful and was becoming a modern first world nation but not anymore 😒 Erdogan is an islamofascist dictator
FatDolan - yup and he supports Isis over the Kurds which speaks volumes in itself. Plus he just built that hundred million dollar palace. He thinks he's a khalifa and is gonna rule the country until he dies
Woah, went there in April for vacation. I didn't get that deep though, but I saw the kitchens, wineries, even trapdoors. It was a cool experience! It was said that this underground city is for the early christians to hide from an empire (romans if i recall). we visited to the remnants of churches. There are even dark church (a church with some different painting, maybe dark painting, i forgot) but I didn't get inside there because i need to pay again lol
You might also what to check this latest video of the Derinkuyu Underground City. .Thanks ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-p5Z7_jCH5zM.html
I get terrified by caves/closed spaces and thoughts of running out of oxygen there. But I enjoy horror. I shat my pants watching this video. So, thank you :)
Anuj Nagpal i ve been to that place. In the deepest part of this city there is a cemetary and some parts of this city is not good for fat people because it is narrow as hell.
I just visited there! They were made by the first Christians to hide from Romans and other Pagans. They're all over the city! I went to the Göreme undercity and could only go down two levels :")
This is potentially untrue, the tunnels are more likely closer to 12,000 years old and were likely created in order to shelter from catalysmic wetaher events.
The Middle East never ceases to impress me. Definitely a place to explore. Who knows what else one might find underground or in a cave...ahem... a hidden species of red haired giants?
All of these videos from "Great Big Story" are all to fragmented and lack in complete story telling. I wish that they were all more encompassing and complete.
@Doomsday Taco Why yes it is. In Revelations you get to go to Cappadocia. You end up causing mass murder by blowing up a bomb that causes the entire city to be enveloped in smoke. Many people suffocate to death.
Jinzo It is a Muslim country and people who live in that town are almost all Muslim. When you are a Muslim you have to pray 5 times a day so when you go out it is very convenient to have one close-by. I do not understand what is your problem with it.
BlueMuffin why would they build mosques around it in the name of hatred if they really did hate greeks then it would have been sealed shut instead of being opened to public
BlueMuffin friend what is wrong with mosques? and why should we hate greeks and why do we want to damage an ancient heritage of our country just because it has been made by some "enemy" civilization? as you see these are nonsense plus these areas are very well protected and touristic places
Van They didnt rebel, the Turkish were scared and thought that Armenian was joining the Russian side in WW1. Also prior to that Turks and Armenians never got along.
JustAFish it was armenia it is conquered by the turks and its turkey now if its ok to claim things from the past as yours then give me back the map of gökturks
roachy If you actually were to do research you can see that Armenia is over 5000 years old. Now during that time Turkey never existed, how can something that didn't exist own something and then call it theirs?
