In todays video we will be exploring a massive abandoned bank in the Midwest that I like to call the "Rust Vault". It looks like they are in the process of renovating this one so I wont be saying what state its in or its history. The bank has been abandoned for quite some time and you can tell the vault was once completely under water. Surprisingly paperwork and keys were still inside the vault.

That vault in the basement at 2:30 was very old, probably an original vault when the building was built. From experience working at one of these, that vault was more than likely used for storing old records with long retention policies or old security tapes from before the cameras went digital. Judging by the cash drawers and equipment in this bank, a lot of that is at least 30-40 years old. The locks for those drawers are hard to come by now these days.

I'd think way older. Sad he didn't show more of the round vault door for the safety deposit and trust safes, but I think it either screwed in or has a bunch of pins all around that would push into the frame. Judging by the depth. Those 2 vault doors could easily be 100-150 years old. I have a bank in my area that has the exact same doors, and they were installed in the 1800s

Invest in some good waterproof muck boots so you don't get sick from all that filth soaking into your shoes.

I like how fearless you are. Going everywhere, open all the doors and calmly comment you do. Right like in a horror movie 😁

You guys should be careful. Don't let doors close behind you because some doors lock when they close.

This is so cool! I figure you’re not too keen on taking any tokens to hang up on your wall?

Why do we ever mine for metal anymore? Imagine how much easier it'd be to dismantle and recycle the metal in old dying buildings vs sending billions of dollars in equipment to get a few ounces.
