🎬 Exploring a Traditional Dutch Windmill | Kinderdijk | Netherlands Malayalam Vlog | with Eng CC
The windmills at Kinderijk are a group of 19 monumental windmills in the Alblasserwaard polder in the province of South Holland, Netherlands. The windmills of Kinderdijk were built as part of a large water management system to prevent floods. These windmills, by facing each other form an iconic Dutch scene.
We are able to visit two windmills namely, Nederwaard and Blokker. Blokker - the oldest windmill of Kinderdijk was built in the 16th century and the remaining 18 windmills date from 1738 to 1740. They are built as part of a large drainage system in order to drain excess water from the low lying areas into the river Lek.
With a ticket priced at 11€ per person, we can explore two windmill museums - the Blokker and the Nederwaard , the Wisboom pumping station as well as enjoy a ride through the canal by canal cruise and end up with a small surprise (please check this at the reception).
Kinderdijk is just 15 kms from Rotterdam and 1.5 hrs drive from Amsterdam. The easiest way to get there is by car or you can take a water bus from Rotterdam. If you are traveling during weekends then you can find free parking space whose link is given below.
