Exploring Abandoned Gilded Mansion of Frank Woolworth

Years before the Roaring Twenties, Frank Woolworth built his fortune by opening stores selling merchandise for spare change. His F. W. Woolworth Company pioneered the five-and-dime stores that became a staple in the U.S. Using this fortune, Woolworth constructed Winfield Hall in Glen Cove, Long Island, for $10 million. This place is so exquisite that even Taylor Swift used this very mansion in her 2014 hit song Blank Space. In today's episode, I get the rare opportunity to explore the abandoned Winfield Hall and bring you inside. I'll even line up video footage and photographs of Taylor Swift shooting her music video. I might have Dementia but I won't forget the time and fun I had shopping at his stores and eating in the diner in the store, I would always eat a grilled cheese sandwich with potato chips and a dill pickle 😋. Those were the good Ole days and I really enjoyed those days and I am so sad 😞 that they had to shut down the stores and go out of business, that's for sure 😢 .I still think I have some of the merchandise that I purchased from the Woolworth store back in the day 😢!!!

Wow, that mansion is amazing. Glad that they are restoring it once again. That Pipe organ was amazing to see as well. I'm sure it was a beautiful sounding instrument when it was fully functional.

More on the sale: The buyer was a Long Island resident who made an all-cash offer, according to listing agent Margaret Trautmann of Compass. She said he has experience renovating large properties in the area and intends to live in the mansion after its makeover, but declined to further identify him.

Maybe I'm weird, but so much opulence just kind of depresses me. It's all beautiful for sure, but useless. I like the more simpler houses that you explore, the ones that have memories of the people who lived in them. This place is like a museum. But thank you for the explore!!

I enjoyed going to Woolworth with my mother we had lunch their together and shopping was so much fun and I always got a Pez candy.🥹I miss my mom and Dad!
