Exploring an ABANDONED Insane Asylum with a DISTURBING Past 

When you came across the child's bike with the training wheels I found that just a little disturbing. Then you said something about the kids section and I thought no way. Little babies shouldn't need an insane asylum. Good explore. Can't wait for the ghost city.

My thoughts about the children's ward would have been used for children born with disabilities. The term "mental" for them would have been such things as Austism & Down's Syndrome. Again this is just my thought but no child should have been exposed to that environment. So sad...

Ive been living in a mental hospital for about 6 months now and its not even close to anything they would do in insane asylums i can have my phone but if i act crazy or get into a fight they do strap you down to a bed but they treat you like humans for the most part here its crazy how horrible they used to treat mental patients im glad how the world has evolved

These places made to treat people with mental illness in general are places that make me very sad, they are scary places where I would never have the courage to go at night. You can almost feel the sadness and fear of the people who lived there, the horrors they went through. Walking through these corridors you can almost hear their cries for help. May God have mercy on these people's souls and may they have found a cure for their problems.

Please note that when lobotomies, insulin therapy, and the initial electroconvulsive therapy was completed in asylums like this it was state of the art treatment for the mentally ill (1900s-1950s). Prior to these types of treatments the mentally I’ll were left in these asylums with no treatment except to be locked down. Please note: Mental illness treatment has come a long way since these days!

I am a Sleep Tech and what you thought was EKG equipment is actually Old Sleep Equipment which performs over night sleep studies or EEG’s. Those print outs are of different stages of sleep, this is what I view nightly via computer now. I paused the video to get a good look and saw one Pt was dreaming. Very fascinating! Thank you

I’m Italian and I know that in some Italian regions we have soooo many abandoned places, it’s crazy. In the classroom, i was able to read what they wrote on the chalkboard and it was a huge blasphemy regarding god. Just found it interest to share!

My great, great grandfather, Issac "DOC" Fullerton, and a friend of his ran an Asylum in Columbus Grove, Ohio, and took in all the unwanted people because of their looks or disabilities that families didn't have time for. I need to go visit this place but I have heard my great, great grandfather helped heal many people and not by torture, and is a very honored man in this town.

It wasn’t an EKG as you mention d it’s a machine they attached to there heads and looked at brain wave activities. Im pretty sure that’s what that machine is. Cool video boys!!

That was cool. Kind of sad though what they used to do to people who had mental illness or mental and physical disabilities . I think a lot of that place probably had young children with disabilities there. You know back in the day it was considered taboo to have a child with a disability so they would make them wards of the state. And they would end up in facilities like that and be tortured and used for experiments.

How sad knowing 😢 little children were there in a place like that!!! It almost reminds me of The Shining in the long hallways there. 😱

Kids can suffer from every mental illness under the sun like severe depression, bi polar, schizophrenia, psychosis as well as all kinds of informational processing conditions like autism, downs syndrome and behavioral problems as well as being mini violent criminals themselves.

Great video 👍🏼, but Some scary goings on in those places, Greetings from from the uk btw😊 2 of my brothers were called up to go and fit customized gate and fencing around a property that use to be an Insane Asylum to keep people out whilst it was being transformed into flats 😮 one of my brothers was alone inside the property and decided to film inside, later he played it back to my brother and myself and all we could hear was screaming and shouting. And blood dripping down the walls 😮 things like that should be destroyed and not made into new homes or anything like it, it should be pulled down, grassed over and left. Or made into a memorial for those people and what they went through, because they ain't at peace that's for sure

This is why people with disabilities have more rights! It's a good thing because how they were treated was unhumane!!

You guys should be wearing some type of Mechanics gloves so you won’t touch anything strange such as bacteria, etc, and to not leave fingerprints, call me wary but I am, just cautious, I wear gloves all the time, for everything. Good day.

This is an awful place (its good that you went there to tape it, but) the vibe that still is there, some brutal things went down here. From electroshock, to psychiatric surgery, to chemical dumbing down of people. This is a dreaded place. This is the thing of nightmares. One of the most evil places on this planet. This was crazy & was that a adult crib at the beginning...I can't imagine the horrors that took place here & the many souls left behind adults and children....the children bicycles cribs....why would there be baby cribs???? how would you determine if a baby was insane...that shit is disturbing alone...I am totally mind blown on this one...the place is so huge cells rooms a church which by the way was beautiful still. This plate is crazy already. The dr referring to patients as inmates….WHAT!!! Disturbing to say the least! Sad. People getting treated this way! Beds are crazy bro! Did you hear the laugh as you walked through that bed room? It was faint but there! Kinda freaky man! Absolutely nuts, the poor patients! Stay the night there!! Gross skeleton. A baby carriage……WHAT! Why is it abandoned??I mean it’s potential good space to do things with.Beds and furniture ,,turn it into sone orphanage or something else to help people out rather than just keeping it out…come up with good plans and change it into a productive environment for May be old and neglected people of kids from orphanage that’s looks beautiful..

All Over The World Oklahoma Is The First Place They Need To Start Our Modern Asylum's Are Worse Than The Historical Shut Down Vanita And The Famous Central State Griffin Memorial Norman Still In Operation My Maternal Grandma Was A. Retired Nurse There For 33 Years And Kept Her Mental Healthcare Nursing License Valid Renewed Until Her Death Back In 2015.

You should check out Taylor Manor Hospital in Crownsville, MD (just outside of Annapolis, MD). It used to be an insane asylum-my mom worked there when she was a teenager. She’s now 74 years old. It shut down many years ago and I believe it’s been left abandoned. It would be worth checking out.

The pink device at 11:30 is a “stander” - an orthopedic device used mainly for immobile patients to put them in a vertical position. Currently used today.

I believe the machine was a langendorff machine which are used to check different stages of diabetic hearts. So that was probably something he used when sending patients into diabetic comas.
