Hi...love your videos, always interesting and u r very respectful of the previous owners things. I am hooked on abandoned houses. I like it that you do not make fun of anything and just show what you see. Thank you for all your videos!
Carol Christie I do try to be respectful intentionally...these are not my homes, nor do the contents belong to me..I am simply documenting before this stuff is gone forever..
Great video as always. Love how you give us so much information by focusing in on details without needless comments throughout. Also, thanks to the others comments offering their input, it makes things fun putting everything together. Can't wait for the next one!
I've looked around on Google, and it says the facility shut down in 2012 due to lack of funds. Having worked in healthcare, and known people to work in halfway houses, etc, certain storage rooms HAVE to be locked. Med carts must be locked when not attended, and some facilities/states also require them to be in a locked room. Storage for all toiletries must be locked. There are people out there with mental issues where they try to drink soap or mouthwash, or eat toilet tissue etc. All staff areas must be closed off to residents. Linen closets usual require locking also. The posted rules about locking one half of the house and never leaving anyone alone is for the residents' safety. The chemical pink SWISH note tells us that someone goofed up and put a chemical in a bottle that previously had another chemical in it. That can cause all sorts of issues from the bottle exploding, to chemical burns to staff.
Sad since this was a place for people with Developmental issues.. Hopefully they were all able to relocate peacefully. Darn government cutting support.. ugh
Well maybe the reason why the government stopped supporting this facility is because way too many people were pretending to be retarded just so they can live in it. Man, this place is gorgeous! Wouldn't you do the same? HA HA HA HA!
Yellow box out back (top pick # 1 fireworks) looks like someone was celebrating escaping from the rules & regulations, not to mention the closet!! Another gripping video that gives the perspective of the explorers experience. Thanks for sharing!
Got this from google: "Community Living Oshawa/Clarington is an accredited, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the achievement of personal outcomes for people with developmental disabilities." It looks like this place might have been a group home for adults with developmental disabilities. I haven't found anything about any crimes taking place in relation to the organization, so I can't explain that police tape...
It was a group home ran by Community Living. I did t work there, but I knew from the design and the layout. The house would have held and supported a few people. The police tape means that one of the residents died under suspicious circumstances and the result forced the company to close the home.
I didn't read what you wrote before starting to watch and as soon as I saw the furnace change list I knew it was some sort of care home. There is all kinds of equipment needed so closets with outside locks would be common to prevent misuse or abuse of the items. Our family is a four generation household of 10, most on the Autistic spectrum or having other special needs and disabilities,,, and boy would I love to have something like that. Multigenerational homes are starting to make a come back but they are completely out of our price range. It's amazing how more laws and costs are demanded by commandments every year , raising the cost of housing but they don't seem to prevent easy decay of the structures.. the best structures were still the oldest.. so much for building codes.
That was a rather interesting house with an amazing lack of vandalism that so plagues such places. I'm no expert at home renovation, however it appears with a proper clean up could be quite habitable. Thanks for posting the video.
Just found you on RU-vid and loved your video. I wish you would talk about what you are seeing and feeling during your videos. That police tape kinda freaked me out tho. Can't wait for the next one.
That was a very fun tour!! It was HUGE!!! Although it was an assisted care living facility, the inside and décor left behind, looked somewhat like a regular home, except for, as you said all the rules and regulations. Those locks on that one door looked pretty heavy duty....hate to think they locked anyone in there. And the police crime tape in several places regular makes you wonder?? Really enjoyed the tour and thanks for sharing!! :)
Para mim, os seus vídeos estão entre os melhores do RU-vid nessa categoria: "Exploração Urbana" ! São imóveis interessantes e suntuosos e com a filmagem de ótima qualidade ! Saudações do Rio de Janeiro-Brasil.
I thought of this as a halfway house or Sober Living place. Then the police tape! A disturbing place. The white dove was refreshing and you are no coward! Great vid but left me wondering. Meth lab? And all the twists and turns...I would never find my way out! This is suitable for a film noire. More. I want more!
This makes me mad & sad, as where I come from we used to have some beautiful homes built specifically for people with both physical & mental issues, but due to funding the council shut them down & shoved them anywhere they could!! They suddenly went from having staff there if they needed them & having friends around to being stuck in a high rise or on an estate where they had to manage for themselves & most felt isolated. I hope the folks from here fared better. But another great video!!
Drove by this place today. Didn't realize it was empty but I noticed that the windows were boarded up. It was just apartments. I worked with someone in 2002-2003 that used to live in one of the apartments.
If I'm not mistaken, there was a Dateline show about this place. They were taking in senior citizens for their Social Security checks, and neglecting them. That is why all of the police tape is up. There were 2 or 3 of the rooms the police entered, and found people dead from starvation & neglect. It was a horrible thing to happen.
The heavy duty locks on the closet door(s) may account for locked medications for the residents (patients). My sister and 1 of my aunts are nurses and work for an assisted living home, I showed them this video and they both told me that in a lot of the assisted living facilities they keep heavy medications for certain patients thus locking the closet(s) up so others cannot get to them. As for the Police tape?? Hmm, I have to say I nor my aunt or sister could account for that unless there was abuse going on there and they were investigated for said abuse. Thanks for another great adventure daadeeoh (: Always great fun to be on board with you on you're travels (: I look forward to more adventures with you (:
Very interesting house, it seems to keep going on with more kitchens and bathrooms! Assisted living. That closet was weird! If they tear it down for the new road it would be nice if someone could salvage those water systems if they are still good.
This was amazing D.D.O., it was huge, and some of the furniture left behind was in good shape, you are right looks like a halfway house of some kind, is this in any way being torn down for the 407 monstrosity? cheers, and thanks for all you do-Dave in Stoney Creek
8:24 That is cruel. To keep an elderly patient locked in a closet because of bowel/bladder issues. This must have been an assisted home for the elderly.
At 2:47 I could hear something dribbling. I am babysitting a friends rather nervous Boxer and I thought it was him peeing on something. Thank god it was the vid. Still furnace oil left in the tank! 3 water heaters if I counted right?! Were those propane tanks at 5:09? Locks on a closet from the outside.? That's scary! Makes my imagination run a bit wild. This is still a very desirable house! It's beautiful, bright and big. Thanks Daadeeoh for another excellent adventure!
Would be nice after the tour , one could talk to locals, ask questions to get history of these places. I'm sure they're like to talk about it. Would make the tours much much more interesting. Did enjoy tour...thanks!
What an interesting place, you should seriously consider calling the oil company and make anonymous tip about the oil leak, if that oil gets into the ground water it could be very serious. It looks like somebody recently spent a bunch of money on that place within the last few years the furnaces are not that old and the water purification systems are not that old either. I know I say this a lot but if there's one place that's worth being saved it's probably that one, as long as the septic system is OK and up to code and the wells are still ok.
Awesome! but I don't think anything can or will top the dream mansion in Ontario, that was BEAUTIFUL! As I watched that, the madder I got and thought 'what a waste'
You put your camera over the filing cabinet, I paused it to see what it said, the words community living caught my eye so I can tell you that this rather large home was a home for the disabled. Who needed to be cared for 24/7 and the house was staffed. Which makes sense as to size and all the high tech stuff in there. I used to work for a community living at one time over a decade ago. This info should help you to narrow down any research you may want to search for on the home.
Amanda Faltisco A Group Home is NOT for Senior Citizens or diabled people, A halfway house is for drug addicts and non violent criminals, its either instead of jail, or in between Jail and society.
Such a fantastic find! I'd be curious to know if searches could yield information about the history of this place...namely crimes or police reports. Surprised that vandals hadn't done more damage to the home. That was a great tour, I so enjoyed it!
Hi thanks so much for your videos they are awesome. I tried to do a little research about police tape and I found articles and pics on a halfway house where a guy was dealing drugs from the home and another man was shot and killed there. Not positive it is the same house but I think it may be..once again thanks for your videos I really enjoy them and you do a great job
Sorry English is not my first language but I think this place was a community service for the disabled. I searched a name from an email that was shown on facebook, this woman works for communicity living for disabled people in Canada, not far from this place.
Wow in America that house would have been trashed being vacant for about a year... I found this place on Google Earth its been demolished... 1034 Wincester RD E, Oshawa ON L1H 8L7, Canada. They were probably closed down for locking EL in the closet lol. Cool vids man.
Some things in this house like the cabinets still looks new.the house itself still looks new looking at the painted walls.this is a very nice place.it can be a very nice home.sad they just leave it like this ,makes me wonder what really happened?
Hermin Rafa INDONESIA!!!!! OMG thank you for watching and I am so happy that youare able to enjoy my vids!!!!! PLease come back again and see what I have to offer!
It's certainly strange to see that large amount of water tanks or whatever. Large house, I feel like you didn't even get all of it! Still pretty strange as all of your explores are. :)
12:33 that is similar to what i have to do at my job and i take care of individuals with developmental disabilities. you have to document everything. the police tape was probably because a lot of abuse and neglect may have happened there. it is known many places like this shut down because of it. But that's only my guess.
it was a very nice place. hallways with hallways, always cool, as well as the multiple stairs. makes me wonder why there would be police tape everywhere. really great find.
You must do alot of research (surveillance) I'd be sorte scared of finding squatters or something not too inviting -- still I'd love to do that, but I would do it with a partner I think! Great one again, love your channel by the way -- you have a new fan!
I have worked in a lot of group homes and assisted living homes locks on doors that were any medications cleaners anything's of those sorts sometimes certain utensils we're locked up its a state regulation. If you don't want fines or to get closed down.
I have been watching a lot of your videos and was wondering what is the craziest thing you have ever seen or came across and all the abandoned places you've been to?
there is a spirit in the bedroom with the grey paint down below and the lighter color above....you can see little white spots dancing around in a formation and it goes ahead of him out the doorway..👻
Fruity Rocks I believe that is silver glitter in that grey paint. I could be mistaken but after I watched it a couple times those little formations you mentioned began as soon as he entered that room. They continued every time he moved his camera, on every wall. Jus my thinking though......😬
if you go to sutton and drive baseline road to keswick. you will see half a dozen abandoned houses on the way. im not sure if you've already done those but thats one lead. theres another giant farm property with 2 massive houses located on it on county road 47 in brechin.
Fantastic video daadeeoh. You can tell this house cost a crapload to build. Makes me wonder why whattever happened they didnt lock it up and have somebody to look after it.To me it looks like this place isnt to far gone to be fixed up again instead of leveled. Obviously the police didnt give a shit if it got destroyed or not, or anybody else for that matter. It just kinda pisses me off to see such a nice place destroyed by vandals with nothing better to do.Hopefully somebody will buy it and fix it instead of leveling it.
That's a shame. Such a nice home, just clean up the trash in and around it, put in furniture and boom! Whoever abandoned this house should be aware of what they're wasting.
I love going on these adventures with you. Thanks so much for taking me with you! Did this particular location give you the creeps with the crime scene tape? Did you ever research the location to see if there was any history documented anywhere? I was wondering if there was ever one place you went to explore that really gave you a bad feeling and you left straightaway? Just curious.
LIz, I am so happy you come on these adventures with me! I have had bad feelings on numerous occasions...I try to push through it though..The video means alot to me )
Theres a place on my street that is abanonded and i have always wondered what it looks like in side i love in cambridge if you come out here can you look at 232 linden drive cambridge ontario theres a boat in the drive way and its beside a path thank you i look forward to seeing the home on here
it must have been a nursing home or assisted living home and the ribbons of police crime they must have found some kind of abuse so they probably close them down and found a beer somewhere the ones in the home anymore thanks for taking us through I enjoyed it
8:26 Incontinence - Used to refer to a lacking in moderation or self-control, especially related to sexual desire. Maybe that explains the closet with outside lock? Judging by all the notes, this place was a community living facility that some period of time was quite successful to have all this air and water treatment apparatus. Lot of exit signs also.
Believe this may have been a group home.. I have worked in group homes for 30 years and just from some of the jargen on the different papers you found they are alot of the same type of things we use in ours.. My group homes are for adults with mental retardation and developmental disabilities..
That's so cool! I'd love to know the story behind the place, like what happened there? If it was some sort of place that was for community living for those with disabilities... Why is abandoned? Why is there police tape? I find it weird ... I tried to look up the place but I haven't found any information on what the place really was, any records or anything that this place was run by a medical business thing (I'm using my words! lol), records of any crime or really anything. You'd think that you'd be able to find something, at a news article on some sort of criminal activity... If the tape didn't say "Crime stoppers" I would say that it might because of some sort of leak (I did see something about that in the comments and see something vaguely about it in the video) that might've caused a hazard... But that doesn't really connect with crime stoppers, at least not that I would consider a real connection. Really weird... maybe its just that I'm really terrible at researching things like this but it was still very interesting to watch and read some of the research of your other viewers! If you ever manage to piece together what happened here or anything I'd love to know! Also, hi from the USA!
yes !! 2.55 spirit telling him to go back ,this is very clear and is not the wind I feel that there has been a murder in that house and as I was watching felt uneasy ,,something not right ...
I do like what you do, however I think your camera spends to much time on the floor area also you move around the rooms too quickly and I'd like to see you take more time on the details of the homes interior as well as exterior. Thank You
+DaaDeeOh's Urban Exploration ,,yes it does..what a awesome house , and such a aweful thing , people going in there and just trashing it , and tearing it up , stealing the cabinets ,, man what a waste ..I would love to have lived in at least half of this thing ,,

Thanks AUK..Always appreciate your support! · redneckbryon 1 hour ago Very interesting place I definitely agree with you it probably started off as a group home or assisted living facility, that would explain the 4+ kitchens I saw and all the bathrooms, but I imagined before then it was prolly a single family residence, with an large attached garage which they filled in to make more living space. That fuel oil leak could be potentially dangerous to the environment, you should potentially from a payphone call in an anonymous tip about the leak. I wonder if the oil company is still filling the tank I've heard of that happening after tanks have been removed and places being abandoned, considering from first glance that place doesn't look abandoned I know I say this a lot but that place could be saved if someone gets in there quickly before any more vandalism happens, in my opinion overall it's not that bad yet. It's a shame to see that place abandoned considering somebody spends a lot of money on HVAC and water treatment equipment, within the last few years, I believe I saw on the HVAC equipment installed in 04, but that water treatment equipment looked newer, and believe me that stuff is not cheap. You guess is as good as mine why that place got shut down I've heard of a lot of terrible things happening at those type of facility. Reply---I know! Obviously set up for a community assisted group home of some kind. Halfway house? Youth home? Doesn't have a Seniors feel to it. Police tape. Maybe a homicide? Or a questionable sudden death? Def. something serious went on in there and they were forced to shut down. We know they were there until at least '04. House isn't vandalized - yet parts of it are ripped apart - ie kitchen cupboards and so much debris dragged out back. My guess is that it is owned by the town/city - something went very bad - they shut it down and it has just fallen through the cracks of bureaucracy. Thanks for sharing. Soft Maiden The fluid was heating oil & the noise sounded like someone croaking "Get Back!". Though, the sound is similar to the creaks that the camera was making throughout the video. :-?
On the Paper he found at 12:33 it`s written "Community living Oshawa / Clarington" You can rate by Your self what`s the Business of this Company. Btw.. at 2:55 it`s the same Noise like at 11:28 and at 11:58 i think it`s from the Rubbersoles of his Shoes........
new you tuber here. I really like your videos, BUT, I have 2) issues. 1)you spend waaay too much time in the basements, looking at (close-ups no doubt) water heaters, AC, furnaces, etc. and 2) you never talk!!! it would be nice if you explained (some) things that you were seeing. just sayin…..
if I didn't know better, I would think that backyard is where I reside at. With all the garbage out back. People here that cannot pay their sanitation fees, they just deposit their garbage anywhere.
This is almost definitely a mental health or group home. The signage is a dead give away plus the locks, child proofing and childrens items / posters scream group home. Recently the gov took away funding for some as well as changed (cancelled) contracts with a company that offered them in SO. So I'd be willing to bet this was one that lost funding and was snatched up by a developer.
