Still watching these videos daily. I try to leave some comments when I can to try and help. My scores are low 70s to low 80's. 88 is my best game. I really only find i can get high scores with "the economy path" moving the book and compass. Im not sure if theres a trick to the "race path" I find I have a hard time getting enough compass and resources to both race and kill monsters. Ill usually have 6 idols 4-5 monsters something like that. at best. Would love to see you cover more games. Viticulture? Kings guild? Agricola? Castles of burgandy?
Wonderful video! Question: if you *do* explore in Turn 1, do you burn your idol quickly or hoard it for a more tactical move in a later round? (I would assume use it early, but I'm not certain that's always best.)
Hey Mike, thanks! Yep, I'm using my Idol ASAP if that leads me to any meaningful effect. Be careful though that on the Snake side you need an Idol to take the 4th step on the Research track, so saving Idols is more important there.
