Richard, you are hanging in my old stomping grounds. I was diagnosed with MS in Atlanta at the Shepherd Center in 2003. I dined “back in the day” at RJ’S. It is amazing how much has changed and good to see some things are still the same. Great VID!
Not a bad area at all! Definitely a lot of changes. I’ve been here for a decade and it’s changed a LOT since then. Some neighborhoods are unrecognizable
Best big city for wheelchair users is Chicago . The sidewalks are kept clean (no gum to run over) , parking is free at all museums (parking underground) . Every sidewalk have ramps . It was the most amazing large city to visit for me .
Yup! Visited Chicago back in the summer of 2018 and it was super wheelie friendly. I don’t know what the winters are like but the summers sure are nice
Great video man. I’m in Atlanta also so I’ve been to a lot of these places, but I can’t wait to revisit them and go to some new ones. This video has really inspired me to start a channel of my own
Wow! We are watching this video while we are at Shepherd. My husband was injured almost 2 months ago and we have been in and out of ICUs and are ending our journey at Shepherd... We are going home this week. Would love to connect before we leave!
Thanks for taking us on your trip 😊. Atlanta looks like fun great looking food also, one question was the parrot still in his cage when you got done with the wings? LOL😂. The mango caterpillar pops are also dairy free😂. Great 2 see you and Jalila having fun👍👍😁💪👊
I wish I knew about those wings back when I did my therapy at the shepherd center in 2017! My wife and I would use day passes to push to chick fi la and Ted’s Montana Grill, which is now one of our favorite restaurants. I also am in debt to the shepherd center. So many good and sometimes painful memories of that place, but I wouldn’t be as independent as I am now with out their help. Another great video, bro!
@@Wheels2Walking I’m married myself and luckily I have a wife and daughter that are super supportive. Nothing like a southern belle blonde from North Carolina. We have a 17 year old girl as well. Married for almost 18 years… ^^
bro I hope u sanitize ya hands after opening drs ?? cause if u didn't u just transferred whatever to ya pushrims ..also where's ya scooter?..ive bn in my chair for 23 yrs and ive had surgery on my rotator cuff..and my PT told me its ok to use my smartdrive once and awhile...loving the videos very informative ..just looking after ya viewers
Such a cool video, thanks! Eye opener for this one: how to hold hands with your girlfriend while pushing a wheelchair! Good to know, just need a girlfriend now ;) :D
Hey Richard, your advice became handy just a few months after this comment. My girlfriend and I tested out to hold hands - unfortunately it didn't work for us as my assistive drive kept pushing me in wrong directions all the time. On the other hand we discovered so many other stuff we can do together now like enjoying holidays :) I just watched your video about your frustation about your urologist. I just won some stupid complaints against my health insurance so I totally get you (although the situation in Germany seems to be much better in this regard). Hope you're safe and well!
pretty interesting over there. when you live in an old town like me, the accessibility is pretty bad in certain areas, but obstacles is what we wheelchair users have to deal with, right... and you're right, rain and pushing rims is the worst...
Great post. I’m paraplegic from an accident last year. Your videos are very inspiring and motivating. Thanks for sharing and continue to be a symbol of hope. 😎
Born & raised in the hills of north Georgia. Left home at 18. Been back a couple of times. Worked in Atlanta and loved it. Life has taken me to other destinations, but Atlanta is still my favorite city. - Have wheelchair. Still travelin'...
Atlanta =least wheelchair friendly city with no regard for disabled parking spots and worse, people park in the ramp area next to the disabled spot. Police don’t respond . Awesome restaurants, though!
12:45 that happened to me at a concert same type of lift.I used the lift to get up and I enjoyed the concert. It broke with someone inside after the concert ended. So we were waiting for a while from them to fix it so we could leave. Super annoying.
Wheels2Walking it really was one of the most amazing experiences in my life and we also stopped by , Vegas, Monument Valley, Antilope Canyon , and the hoover dam all breathtaking. Antilope Canyon was hard had to be dragged through it as inside it’s all sand.
