Coming back soon, fans getting ground cleaned, seats cleaned, painting being done, pressure washing walkways!! All sorts being done for this community (and thats what it is, as well as football) asset
Just really hope that the small (but vocal) minority who oppose Bury AFC come to their senses and realise that it is best for everyone if Bury AFC play at Gigg Lane and we view Bury AFC as been the rebirth of Bury FC and a continuation of the club's history (Like with AFC Wimbledon)
@@Tazza81, Thats another issue, the ground was made ready for BFC not AFC, the latest proposals werent met with joy by everybody, many will vote no and want to go it alone, the town wont sustain 2 clubs, having said that the merger (for many) is a must with a completely new board elected and a change of name back to BFC seems the logical way forward.
I remember visiting Gigg Lane back in the early 90s. Sat in the main stand, a delightful old wooden structure. There was a 'Ladies Retiring Room' which was carpeted. Bury 3 - Hull City 2 as I recall.
Why don't you come to a game now they're back and have a look around now? The ground is as tidy as ever and it would be good to see some more media coverage and a comparison from when you first visited.
I'm lead to believe that the supporters group have bought Gigg Lane and the phoenix club is on it's way back. First time I saw CITY there was Easter '66, we got beat, that Bury win allowed them to survive in 2nd Division. The defeat for us didn't hinder us on our way to becoming 2nd. Div. Champions.
My dad is laid to rest behind the stadium I'm back up there tomorrow I miss gigg Lane and I cant wait to see her again in all her glory when football is back
Always sad to see a once proud football club go under and their stadium left to rot. Money rules now lads and just this week Man U made it abundantly clear by giving a new contract worth £375,000 a week to a kid with a big nose. Utter lunacy.
You do realise you've got the bury afc badge on your thumbnail screen which is a different club completely, they were set up by a group of fans and they've just won the North West counties 1st division, another group of fans have just purchased the stadium and cleaning it all up,bury fc will be back
@@tweetypie25 I AM one of the towns supporters you 🔔end and we're sick of plebs like this trying to make a name for himself off our demise. Stuff off!!
