Thanks so much for making these. Really feels like an exploration of ecosystems I'll probably never see live myself. Any ideas/hints as to why some of these spots seem to lack aquatic plant life?
@australianbiotopes4563
@australianbiotopes4563 11 месяцев назад
Thank you for watching, I'm really happy you enjoy them, There is probably a lack of plant life due to the the heavy rainfall in the wet season, there is some plant life in shallower bogs around the creek, the heavy rain also probably strips all the nutrient rich substrate bare from the heavy water flow so aquatic plants don't even get a chance to take root, the slower smaller creeks have a lot of plants but they are just flowing off flat ground were the other creeks are just inundated strait off the mountains.

@australianbiotopes4563
@australianbiotopes4563 11 месяцев назад
With tripods and mounts mainly, I don't like to chaise the fish as it looks un-natural, I'd rather have them come to the camera naturally, it is a lot more work with plenty of footage taken but worth it in the end.

Can the feral platys and other fish be removed? They may out compete the native fish and make them extinct. Would be a big job.
@australianbiotopes4563
@australianbiotopes4563 10 месяцев назад
They are here to stay unfortunately, they breed faster then you can remove them and they are everywhere so when the next wet season comes along they get dispersed again from swamps ext.

@@miroslavivanov7220 I have been to the Czech Republic twice but never to Bulgaria, I bet it is as nice as the Czech country, I have been asked every year to do that competition, the problem I have is time, it is in the time of year when I go travelling to get content for my videos, best time of the year here to film up north in the dry season, so I am not home much, in the last Russian one I did, I really had to rush the setup and wasn't very happy with it myself even if other people liked it, maybe if I get time I will, I have pulled down my fish room to make a RU-vid studio so I can make better content on biotope builds.
