The river is pronounced "Tems" not "Thayms". The Pool of London is where ships used to moor up before the dedicated docks were built.

London itself has so much to see. Not far from London, is the incredible Kew Gardens, which you can legit spend all day walking round its so big and varied. Aswell as local exhibits such as the London Dungeons, where you learn about Jack the Ripper and stuff like that. Or maybe enjoy a memorable fine dining experience of an Afternoon Tea and champagne at the world famous Ritz Hotel. Prices start round £67 but requires booking and they have a dress code Hope you enjoy your next visit!

It's amazing how many Americans waste time with Tower Bridge when the Tower of London is a thousand year old miracle! Indeed, it is one of the great buildings in the world. Here's just one interesting fact: The amazing Isaac Newton lived and worked there for a while some 300 or so years ago.

We're definitely bigger fans of the countryside as well, and loved what we saw in Wales and Scotland (and I know there's plenty of countryside to explore in England as well, but we just didn't have time this trip). But cities like London definitely have a way of luring us in... for as long as we can stand the crowds anyway. Thanks so much for watching.

London is a mega world city. If people don't like big cities then it's a place to avoid. It certainly is expensive, but so are most if not all mega cities. If you are a tourist and staying centrally then it's a treasure trove of things to do and you can enjoy walking around. I would always advise tourists to the UK to not just 'bag' London and to go and see some of the rest of the country - rural and urban. There's so much to see and do on this small island.
@kendrasdustyroad
@kendrasdustyroad Год назад
@@alangordon8171 Well said. I wouldn't ever recommend anyone skip it. Whether you're more inclined to big cities or the countryside, I think the more important thing is to just be present and experience wherever you're at with an open mind. Probably easier said than done, but we try to anyway... But ya, we loved London, even if we're typically not big city folk. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
