A very elegant performance. I have played quadrilles for live dancing myself and it amazes me how the music in various countries seems to be culture specific, so long as the tempo is right. I'm in Australia and use old time music which has been popular here. My grandfather used to play these dances on accordion about 100 years ago but unfortunately he left no information as to 'how' to play them or the tempos. I have been involved with dance bands in central Victoria, Australia and quadrilles are still played monthly in this area. Thank you for posting this video.
Bravo! One of the most authentic of such performances as we're seen in the 1950's in "older" Saint Lucia. The music and dress of my grandmother from La Court de Flossac and the Bouillard (same place) near the old Castries Post Office and ice factory come to mind.
