Interesting to see the various options. I've only experienced the Santi Smart Gloves system but it's kept me dry for years now. Been very nice. Have used it with various types of gloves. Marigold, Showa 720, Santi heavy duty, etc. The Showa are cloth lined so require a different method to seal, but there's a good video on YT that shows how.

Thanks for the detailed info...getting an Argonaut 3.0 soon, this helped me choose the seals. Thanks.

Im glad you brought this up, Rolock is one of the few systems we dont get our hands on due to distribution but it is a solid system too! If I ever have one come in the shop Ill make sure to do a quick video on it

Great video. Very comprehensive. I think being a little more critical is okay. I can comment on Sitech Antares. Love the benefit of changing the seal on the fly. However, they are 50/50 on staying dry, for which I accept some responsibility. The tabs are a weak link. They are fragile and can break off. Also, they may not seat correctly if your undergarment is bunched up around the wrist.
@timsgeartips
@timsgeartips 5 месяцев назад
Tabs on the Glove lock? Do you mean the tabs the Sitech Antares?
@leemiller358
@leemiller358 5 месяцев назад
Thanks. You are correct. It is the Antares. I keep them in hard plastic box to ensure the tabs don't break off. Not ideal for tossing into a dive bag.@@timsgeartips
@timsgeartips
@timsgeartips 5 месяцев назад
@@leemiller358 The Antares are pretty finicky. 50/50 sounds about right. Id check out the ultima or press lock. Both are more in the 95 percentile.

Thanks for a great video. I am using the DUI ziplock and decided on using the Kubi system. I went ahead and grabbed the system with HD zip seal. Only question is there guidance anywhere on trimming the HD seals? No luck finding any.
@timsgeartips

I would trim them to where it is just comfortable to wear. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JEtgWZli6SI.htmlsi=28gWopwpwfhuiBxI

45:00 Santi Drysuit dry gloves. I can assure you we have great success in the PNW pulling rubber chemical gloves over our Santi drysuit cuff. It’s the preferred method actually. They don’t pop off as the initial concern may be if you find a proper fitting chemical glove. Here is my detailed video on this topic and backed by some very experienced dive explores in the industry. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4LIhFkF765U.html Hope this helps some fellow Santi divers out there, save some money and fuss. This is how it’s commonly done. The loading rings are not common but a smart consideration as explained in my video. Cheers, #SeattleRingHunter

Great video and thanks for the confirmation that the ol' pullover glove works on the santi smart seals. Great Channel btw!
@SeattleRingHunter

People opt to use pull over gloves on their Santi drysuit cuff from the factory so they don’t have to spend $175 for the Santi Smart Glove kit. Using the loading rings makes it an effortless one person task 🤙😎

Very helpful video! I’m stil having trouble deciding. Can you advise on which system has the smallest footprint? I’m leaning towards the Kubi system.
@timsgeartips
@timsgeartips 6 месяцев назад
The smallest foot print is the kubi systems, then the PSI press lock, then the thenar, then the plastic systems.
@tysonoffenberg1282
@tysonoffenberg1282 6 месяцев назад
@@timsgeartips thank you! Would you recommend the standerd or fitted?
@timsgeartips
@timsgeartips 6 месяцев назад
Fitted kubi system is expensive and difficult to install into a pre existing drysuit. The technician will likely need to take the sleeve and taper it larger or smaller to fit the kubi rings. If your goal is replaceable seals, you should do this. If you’d rather just have a usable glove system, get the standard

So the waterproof ultima soft dgs will have a replaceable wrist seal that fits into the slaggo which does not require the clips? That does mean I need to get both the sloggo and ultima soft dgs though? Great video
@timsgeartips
@timsgeartips 5 месяцев назад
If you are working on a drysuit that doesn't have the SLAGGO currently installed you will need: Slaggo Rings, Wrist Seal, and Ultima Soft system (+ dry gloves)

We tested them... they didnt get our stamp of approval, as they broke on the first weekend of use. They are extremely thin plastic and wont stand the test of time.

What are your thoughts on the psi system. Thinking about ordering an Argonaut 3.0 and was looking at the ultima or PSI system. This is my first time getting into a trilam suit. So lots of research going on. Cheers.

Psi has been working great for us. Easy to don and doff, haven’t had a leak yet (knock on wood), I like that it’s a bit lower profile compared to the ultima system what I was using

Could the Santi Smart Seal work with the DUI Wrist Seal if you did not want to use their Zip Gloves?
@timsgeartips
@timsgeartips 2 месяца назад
@@ThegearlockerNet no sadly Santi systems only work with SANTI suits with smart seal systems. You can use kubi standard range, pull over ring system, glove lock, quick glove, ultima twist, check up dive systems, & thenar

@@lemenpumpkin5077 you could use kubi but it will be quite bulky. The cleanest (less bulk options would be) ultima twist, sitech Virgo, sitech Antares, psi press lock, fourth element ellipse, or rolock
