Exploring East Texas Junkyard Full of Cheap Project Cars!

This small East Texas junkyard is full of odd and unusual cars. The yard has a turnover rate of around 70% every 6 months due to limited space and countless sources for more cars. The owner of this yard has a passion to affordably get as many cars, and parts into the hands of collectors as possible before they are crushed and gone forever.

The best part was when you said this is my faviourite car Ive seen here all day. A real compliment. Thanks Man. I love your American cars. the Holden ute was available in sedan ~ station wagon~a two Door coupe and a flat bed known as a 1 Tonner. All made by GM Australia although we built them down under here in NZ too.

Lol. I'm glad you liked that part. It's definitely true. If I could have bought 1 car from Shawn that day that would have been it. I have not seen a station wagon or a flat bed but it would be cool as ever if I did run across one!

A lot of fun to watch this episode. Watch another episode of years now as well. I'll be giving this fellow call. I like how you let your boys get involved ask questions and talked about what they might do. And this guy was nice to converse with them as well. At all that's the next generation of car hobby enthusiast.

WB Holden ute in the states cool. I'm in south australia we're we made the Holden cars used to deliver in &out of the GM factory here. Also we had the Chrysler factory here. For some reason that ute looks familiar. Hahaha. Good video. 👍. Cool set-up would love to hook up on some Chrysler parts.

24:02 AHH!! That EQ and Deck are AWESOME!! I'd LOVE to get hold of them and use them for the right project vehicle!! Almost looks like the ever coveted "Realistic" Models from Radio Shack! LOL! O retro cool but in it's day it was what the poor kids got so we could still sound good though we were broke! LOL. I put some cheap house speakers that were in their original wood casings (Not not tires LOL) hooked them up to a 10 band cheap EQ and amp and I had Pumpin great tunes!! The boxes with the speakers went behind the Truck seats and it made for a perfect full sound with the drums pounding through you body from the seats. LOL. We used to party and rock to "The Headpins" with "Darby Mills" on Lead Vocals! They were so GOOD! Check them out that guitar sound was famous in our time as it was rumored the Brian McLeod who is still known as "Too Loud McLeod" put his "HI WATT" brand British stack through a full Front house four sub loaded Martin P.A system and recorded the guitars that way. LOL. It might all be just hype but it sure sounds like they could have done something cool! they sound revolutionary! TIGHT!!

I did some really strange things with rigs like he has there. For example, the really rusty Chrysler product that your leaning on at the last part of this video. Its got good glass and its a hardtop meaning I took those "B" pillars out and parts of those type doors plus all of the electrical stuff. Absolutely saved the glass from the sides as well. I took that and grafted it into any old sedan from the fifties.... it really helps if the rig its going into is fairly rust free and a two door as well but it didn't stop me if it was a four door. I took the tops off to start with and then grafted pieces and parts to the rig being fixed up so that when done, it was a two door hardtop. I used a forty eight plymouth two door sedan to convert as its value if I didn't succeed in making it work, not too many folks would of screamed at me. I made it look so cool and had the one and only two door hardtop plymouth for a forty eight model never came as a hardtop yet. I cut the glass to fit the new doors and used even the b pillar out of newer dodge I cut it out of. Yeah, it took me almost four months to get it to paint and polish but it did win trophies. Folks were amazed at all electric in that old plymouth that even had air conditioning grafted into it. What really amazed many who did not know much about cars period was the all electric two door hardtop rig and had all original running gear meaning a flathead six engine. I did sell it for good money and he changed the engine and other running gear to a small block dodge 318 with a automatic. I had left the original running gear in it and it was three on the tree. You can be real surprised what you can do for parts when it comes to junky old rigs.

If that Maverick Grabber was a Manual.........Wait he said he'll throw the parts Maverick in the deal?? YEA BABY YEA! That's something you could use a few parts off it from the main one with the 302 then sell or trade the parts one for a Manual trans and you're set!! THOSE CARS WITH A V8 AND A MANUAL ROCK! Especially if you put a set of coil overs in it then you're set! BUT A 1968 Fairlane with a 289!! Come on $1000 COME ON THAT'S Awesome! I guess in the USA as opposed to Canada these types of cars are just junk yet. But here if you can get your hands on a four door with a 289 from 1968? GO TIME BABY!! 74 Plymouth Wagon is NOT rusty! It's just got Patina. If it was rusty you'd see holes in it. The trunk popper on the Monte Carlo would be in the glove Box and you'd need a battery if it even works.
@downsouthjunking8180
@downsouthjunking8180 Год назад
A 302 in that little Maverick definitely sounds like a quick and nimble setup. Im not sure about the rest of the US, but here in TX 4 door cars get no love. Ironically, everyone wants 4 door trucks, though! I realized later that there was probably a trunk popper in the globe box after the fact, but like you said, it needs a battery to work.

Some have titles, and some don't. The guy that owns them buys out collections from folks who acquired cars over the years then never did anything with them. Sometimes he gets them from old junkyards that are going out of business and scrapping everything.
