When we got married in Aruba we did the off-road thing with a tour agency and they volunteered me to drive this diesel land rover defender... I was terrified with my entire wedding party in the back as we cruised along cliffs and the guide yelled at me twice over the radio to speed up to make all the stops. Turns out I didn't know how to work the transfer case and was slipping all over the place. 4 hi outta there I felt like I was riding a steel cheetah. One of the best experiences of my life. Thanks for sharing yours!
I have spent many vacations on the Big Island. It is my favorite of all the islands due to fewer people. Great fun driving around that island. I bet you appreciate your 392 even more now.
We were at south point last August with a rental jeep and had no idea that there was a green sand beach there, I guess we have a reason to go back now!! Lol. Thank you for showing this hidden spots for the rest of us to future adventure on 😊
South Point is an incredible spot, but I can't imagine cliff jumping like some folks to. The green sand beach is now in most gps maps. So glad you liked the video, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
Thanks Greg!! This was a fun video to make..I'd love to go back and do a bit of camping next time..just need to find an actual oveland rig over there to rent!
Great video. Loved seeing your children in this one. My wife and I have been able to do a ton of traveling with our 5 kids. We’re planning a trip to Hawaii for just the 2 of us this summer for our 20th anniversary and this video helps. Thanks.
@@Venture2Roam thanks. As a family of 7 we have traveled to all 48 continental us states in the last 7 years. But as a couple we need a few trips a year without the kids. Lol
Great video again Will. I forget there are lots of people who have not driven on or near a beach as I grew up surrounded by it. It would be like me getting to wheel in snow 🥶
@@Venture2Roam yeah as we move to winter we head bush and inland like our last trip. We spend most of the summer beach camping on both the mainland and a number of amazing islands we have along the Queensland coast.
You didn't camp on the beach??? Unsubscribe... J/K Awesome adventure! It's fun to see a different kind of adventure. I know you and your family had a blast, it's such an amazing place. I hope to get there one day!
Will I'm listening to your podcast episode about squeezing family into the Idaho bdr, and at beginning you mention driving the 2.0 turbo , and you guys almost sounded like it was a downgrade from the pentastar in the jl. I have a turbo 4 in my Cherokee trailhawk and in our jlu Rubicon and I feel like it is leaps and bounds better than the v6 is. Wonder if you've had any more experience in one of those since, and what you're experience is ? I'm a part of the Colorado mallcrawlers RU-vid channel, and I carry like 700 lbs constant on my jlu now , and it flies up i70 in the mtns here in Colorado without any issues. I'm glad I picked that engine choice in both our jeeps . Love your podcast and your channel by the way. Keep it up!!
Great info..and Thanks for watching the vids and listening to the podcast! I liked the turbo and have had a few more experiences with them since. The one thing I'm not sure about is just how hot they run because of the turbo...I'm always a little skeptical about turbos..but it sounds like you're running it hard with weight and hills in Colorado with no problems...really good to hear.
@@Venture2Roam in all the off roading and on roading I've done, In 4 high and low, the coolant and trans temps have never even wavered. My kl has 62000 miles and the wrangler has 44000 without any issues with the turbo. I have power train warranties which would cover that but I'm not too worried. From what I've heard from my mechanic, they put pretty good sized Honeywell turbos in them and those are good quality ones.
It’s easy to get a bit lost out there. We had done a bunch of research beforehand so we had two routes mapped on Gaia, which gave us confidence we’d get there. How was the hike?
Lol..I know I know...I just couldn't crank this one out until now..plus it didn't fit into the content line up until now..hoping to start getting vids out sooner.
You cheated… we walked it… and I tripped and fell and broke a bone in my arm. We didn’t find out until we got home. But that island was absolutely amazing. I love this video. I wish RU-vid has been a thing when we got married and went to the island!!!
@@Venture2Roam yeah the whole island is awsome! And glad to see you did the night swim with manga rays!! Like being in your own National Geographic episode!!
