When I agreed to help with this season of studio tours I did not expect being asked to climb down into a 20ft bunker on a glorified pool ladder, but now I’ve learned to expect the unexpected. Zack is the best. Loved this one.
amazing projects, 4WD off road wheel chair isn't a fire hazard if battery is faulty how the user is able to get away from the brusting battery cells? since disabled. I don't know the technology used but i'm just coming from the Tesla catching fire at once
He isn't wrong the Wheelchair sector and really any medical sector is insanely overpriced for the materials they use, he just found a way to do as good if not better for a way more affordable price and that is something that makes him awesome
My mom is an occupational therapist and works with disabled children, and I’ve gotten to see some of the amazing work she does. Because of that, I’ve also seen how ridiculous wheelchair pricing is, and it’s something that’s upset me for years. Seeing what Zach is doing with his “Not A Wheelchair” company brings me so much joy, not to mention how wholesome and sweet his relationship is with his wife. Im so glad that someone is stepping up to the plate and showing everyone that there’s no reason for wheelchairs to be so ridiculously expensive.
Yeah my dad is in a electric wheelchair that you can buy dlc(best way to describe it) so that you can get more functionality in the app and the "dlcs" are like 100 bucks.
That's why I get his merch because it literally goes to a good cause. Not to mention he also built a library in Kenya and put some books in it and a few other projects there.
I agree. Another medical device that is a total rip off are hearing aids. They are many thousands of dollars and NOT covered by insurance. Because, you know, who needs to hear? Unbelievable. Props to Zack for his "Not a Wheelchair" business.
Wow. When I saw what he's doing with wheelchairs...More YT'ers should use their success to focus on one area of humanity and make it better than they found it. New hero.
5000 dollars for a wheelchair is crazy, in our side of the world wheelchairs start at 70 dollars and goes up to 400 dollars for high ends and 700 dollars to 2000 for electric
The material cost and manufacturing alone does not cover the cost of said $70-$400 OR $700-$2,000 piece of equipment. Sounds like insurance/UHC is eating the costs, or wheelchair manufacturers are paid out directly by your government. That’s how it should be, but the USA isn’t there yet. Zack is still doing a good thing trying to make wheelchairs more accessible to people who need them, since the US government isn’t doing squat to help their citizens.
3 years ago, I had a wheelchair on loan from my local hospital , because of a broken leg. I also had other remedies on loan, like crutches, a walking chair etc. When i was taking all this home, I had to sign a letter of return, listing prices for every item, so if I didn't return them after a period, I'd have to pay to replace them. The wheelchair was DKK 2500 (Danish dollars), which is the equivalent to $175. I of course know little about wheelchairs, but it had a lot of functionality and adjustments, so not just a "basic" wheelchair,if that even exists.
its been pretty crazy to see what "youtuber" means evolve over 20 years, and seeing what jerryrigeverything has done is awesome. idk his channel but this factory is incredible.
Are you going to cut into the warehouse...? ;-) LOL!!!!! I wonder what kind of goodies you'll gift Zack for the new opening...hehehehehehe!!!! *evin grin*
He doesn’t want more, he uses what gets it done. I’m too often captured by the latest and greatest and need to refocus on what works, not what is THE best and THE fastest (and hence the most expensive).
This was absolutely fantastic. Your videos always put a smile on my face and I love your mission to give quality of life to those who need it! You inspire more people than you realize!
It is always aspiring to see very practical, budget-friendly setups without typical overthinking. No huge cine cameras or lenses, heavy light arrays or overkill mounting setups. Especially refreshing form huge RU-vidrs like Zack. He just knows what works for him. Best of the series fo far. Gerald is vibing hard and Zack is such a nice and kandid man, especially when he talks about his quite noble side project. It felt like 3 minutes instead of 23.
Zack is the best. Nothing fancy, imagine a 15 hear old monitor when he could just buy the latest one, or a bigger house or a more fancier life. Respect
As a person who is really cautious about expressing an opinion about someone whom I don't really know well, but Zack really radiates the energy of a decent and good man.
Zack is one of the most authentic and OG tech guy in the youtube world . Just talking to Zack makes me feel the guy is so humble and is not bothered with the hustle and busle of the youtube culture .
Wow! All of his facilities are something. Especially that huge one being worked on. Also, nice DIY style setup he uses for his gadget and phone videos.
